Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 Carriers Are Not Very Contagious

News from the NIH.

455 contacts who were exposed to the asymptomatic COVID-19 virus carrier became the subjects of our research. They were divided into three groups: 35 patients, 196 family members and 224 hospital staffs. We extracted their epidemiological information, clinical records, auxiliary examination results and therapeutic schedules.

The median contact time for patients was four days and that for family members was five days. Cardiovascular disease accounted for 25% among original diseases of patients. Apart from hospital staffs, both patients and family members were isolated medically. During the quarantine, seven patients plus one family member appeared new respiratory symptoms, where fever was the most common one. The blood counts in most contacts were within a normal range. All CT images showed no sign of COVID-19 infection. No severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections was detected in 455 contacts by nucleic acid test.

In summary, all the 455 contacts were excluded from SARS-CoV-2 infection and we conclude that the infectivity of some asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 carriers might be weak.

If someone doesn’t feel bad and exhibits no symptoms of disease, he can generally go about his business without harming others.  If you feel bad, you should stay home.

If you feel bad, stay home.  If you feel okay, report to school or work.  So what have we learned in this study that our mothers didn’t teach us?

Virtually everything the government (federal and state) has done has been ass backwards through this epidemic.

They began by saying the virus led to ARDS.  That myth was completely shattered early on by Dr. Cameron Kyle-Sidell who treated many patients in New York, and continues to be debunked by more doctors.  And yet, I have in my possession a 60+ page PowerPoint presentation sent to medical workers in North Carolina just several weeks ago restating the ARDS mythology.

The very term “happy hypoxia” came from this treating this disease, and it is now clearly isn’t an ARDS disease, and attacks the blood and CNS/PNS.  All that’s required to ascertain this is a little reading and investigation, and being open to learning from the rest of the world.  But apparently that cannot be done in my home state of N.C., where our awful governor surrounds himself with awful people.

Next up, the wearing of masks.  I have some experience in air filtration engineering from my early career testing and balancing HEPA filters and charcoal adsorbers.  HEPA filters (of concern here) work by particle interception due to electrostatic force.  Surgical masks, cloths, handkerchiefs, and other manner of cotton material (cotton is cellulose) do not have that.

My daughter wears one in surgery and the ER to prevent potential blood-borne pathogens from entering her mouth, not to prevent SARS-CoV-2, flu or the common cold (which is also a Coronavirus).  N95 masks are just that, 95% efficient for particles down to a given size.  Moreover, when a nuclear or chemical worker wears a full face respirator, if the wearer is a male and has a beard, he must shave.  Workers have tried to create work-arounds for this by glazing their face with Vaseline, but the seal never works.  The bulk of breathing air goes around the filtration media if there is no testable seal, not through it.  This is true of full face respirators, and it is true in the superlative for these silly little masks half of America is wearing.

When you put an N95 mask on, the bulk of your breathing air is going under and over the top of the mask, not through it.  Furthermore, every decontamination technique eventually destroys the electrostatic charge on the fibers, thus rendering the mask useless.  It’s designed to be worn and then thrown away.  It’s actually worse than useless, because we are now learning that there is a heavy viral and pathogenic loading on both the outside and the inside of the filter media, and we also now know that the degree to which a patient suffers from this disease is a function – at least partially – of the amount of inoculate that you breath.

Next up, Hydroxychloroquine.  Even the most recent trial of Hydroxychloroquine don’t include the administration of Zinc, and thus the trial is probably useless (a fact that had to be pointed out by Glenn Reynolds).  And despite the medical bureaucracy panning the use of Hydroxychloroquine, they didn’t back in 2005, when they said exactly the opposite.  And while we’re on the subject, while they also pan the use of Hydroxochloroquine for not having their control group and “double blind” study, Anthony Fauci’s much heralded Remdesivir lacks the very same thing.  But Remdesivir is better, because shut up.

Next up, I’ve lost count of the number of times the medical bureaucracy has told us not to put our hopes in “snake oil” or natural remedies.  And yet, we now know that China began pushing Vitamin C in their military as soon as this outbreak occurred.  I’ve sent myself articles on the effectiveness of Vitamins C and D3 in combating this virus, or at least, in showing how those most badly affected by the disease were low in those vitamins (see for example this study, this post, and this study).

Next up, what we did with the elderly will go down as one of the most inhumane things every done to people in American history.  We should have sent them home to be with loved ones, or if they couldn’t, sent them out on field trips into the sun and given them vitamins.  Instead, we sent more diagnosed patients to live among them.

Finally, the number of deaths in America from cancer, suicide and other diseases that haven’t been treated while we’ve been locked down will far outnumber the deaths from this virus when all is said and done, and that, after the economy has been utterly smashed on the rocks, rendering a brand new sector of Americans in poverty after working their entire lives to build small businesses.

Again, virtually everything the medical bureaucracy has done has been ass backwards.  Most of them deserve to be frog marched into the city square and put in stocks.  Sadly, many of them aren’t political appointees and cannot be fired.  They are lifers in the FedGov or StateGov, those seeming repositories of incompetence and malfeasance.

    Can you speak to the usefulness of wearing a mask over your mouth only? I’ve seen many grocery store workers and such wearing them over their mouths only, perhaps getting tired of wearing them.

    I get our education system has been dumbed-down over the decades, but our betters think we’re stupid and can’t read. These are two great easy to understand protocols being presented. I shared them with my RN wife and she found them fascinating and going against what we’re being FED. Ventilators are the last thing you’d put someone, but I recall that’s all they were pushing initially as a panacea.

    Spot on.

    I am in the throes medical training, supposedly going to be called doctor in less than a year. As to be expected, I have been following the development of the “crisis” closely since day one.

    Early on I was trying to remind people of some basic facts with these respiratory viruses: high viral load -> symptomatic -> contagious. If you’re not symptomatic, even if you’re infected or in the beginning of the illness, your body isn’t making all that many copies of the virus. Basic stuff right? Just like how there is no such thing as “the coronavirus.” Coronaviridae are a family of viruses, an umbrella under which exists an immense number of strains. This leads me to wonder what these COVID-19 “tests” are really testing for, and how specific the test is. Same goes for these supposed antibody tests we have. But nevermind… it must be true, because… science!

    The fear and hysteria has delayed my training, added a great deal of uncertainty of where I’ll be living in a few months, and has threatened the livelihood of several family members. Across the country it is destroying lives, as everyone is aware, with wide reaching effects to include a projected rise in TB infections and deaths worldwide – not to mention suicides. So much for do no harm.

    I have to say that I am absolutely embarrassed to be a part of the “medical community.” Healthcare as a whole has become the ultimate groupthink, the borg, where resistance is futile, and questioning the official narrative can end your career. Feelings trump facts, and cultural Marxism trumps all. “Guidelines” trump critical thinking. Facts become facts because they get repeated over and over again, or because the enlightened Dr. Fauxi said so. While I know of plenty of physicians who question the lies, they are fearful of speaking out because they know they will be silenced, shamed, and put at risk of losing their livelihood. You can’t question the narrative, because “facts” are always “facts” right?

    @Alex,

    Thanks for your visit and observations.

    @frog,

    They were pushing the ventilator protocol early because that’s a corollary to the ARDS diagnosis. The ARDS diagnosis is wrong, and thus the ventilator treatment protocol is as well. That’s another thing they got terribly wrong.

    My daughter warned me about this early on. When a patient is put on a ventilator, they rarely come off of it. The survival rate is very low. That’s what they found this to be in NYC.

    And yet … per FedGov order, GM was retooled to make them.

    As to masks over only the mouth, if my daughter was treating a patient with TB or HIV, I would want her to wear it even if it had slipped down from over her nose, but that still isn’t the right protocol for wearing it.

    In general, I don’t think those masks are all that effective for much of anything (as I stated in the article) except for spattering blood. My daughter (and every medical worker in the OR and ER) deals with things like that on a daily basis. I’m much more worried for her about TB and HIV and things like that than I am SARS-CoV-2.

    To get an effective mask for this virus would require the constant wearing of a full face respirator, fitted and tested; they can be gotten from various companies for chemical and nuclear workers. The equivalent military mask would be the M44.

    Isn’t the body merely a host (medium) and viruses replicate themselves? That’s probably what you meant, no? Or…please explain?

    The apparatchiks of the government and managerial class are acting in ways contrary to common sense and logic not just because they are incompetent – although goodness knows there is plenty of that – but because they don’t work for you and me, the ordinary citizen of this country. They work for the oligarchs – the small, yet immensely wealthy and powerful billionaires who actually run things.

    If these bought-and-paid-for “experts” were working for the people, they would not stand in the way of hydroxychloroquine, or in the way of herd immunity, or any of the many other adjuvant therapies known to enhance treatment – Vitamins C & D, direct sunlight, zinc, selenium, etc.

    The “experts” stand in the way of these things because the oligarchs want to implement Bill Gates’ ID2020, in which every human being on the planet will be labeled digitally, via nano-technology taggants injected into them under the auspices of “health care” and the “common good.” The “experts”are also doing their best to make sure that vaccines -and not other therapies – will be the ones administered, even though no effective and safe vaccine for covid-19 yet exists (or is indeed necessary). Why? So that Gates and company can make yet more billions. How? They own the rights to these agents.

    It’s a pretty sure bet, that the ingredient list of those so-called “vaccines” will be rather, well, let’s just say “interesting.” Word to the wise: Don’t take it!

    This current manufactured crisis will also be when the fully-digital economy is rolled out. The destruction of millions of small and medium-sized businesses not only drives further wealth into their hands, their lack means that more business will have to be done online and therefore without cash. The oligarchs haven’t gotten around to this step yet, but they have telegraphed their intentions quite plainly.

    Economic privacy will become a thing of the past without cash, without a physical means of transacting business. Since the basis of exchange will be digital, transactions in the “new” economy will be done in view of our new overlords.

    And if you misbehave, guess what happens to all of those “credits” in your account? Some functionary hits a key on a keyboard, and they get zeroed out. If you dissent against the new order, this will be your fate.

    It is also planned that – for “normal” life to resume in any way, shape or form – ordinary people will need to “prove” that they are disease-free with a digital certificate of health or some such device. Naturally, if you refuse to be implanted and tagged, you will not receive this permission slip from your lords-and-masters, to resume what remains of your life. No travel between states, no job, no access to your bank account, an outcast in everything but name.

    “Brave New World” and “1984” were not supposed to be instruction manuals, but here we are!

    I don’t dismiss that there are nefarious things going on, I just didn’t want to revisit that ground here.

    Totally aside from any nefarious actions, there are other reasons not to trust their vaccine(s). With such incompetence and malfeasance going on, who in their right mind WOULD trust their vaccines?

    BTW, these vaccines are made in the brains of mice because they live their the longest. The virus is attenuated in 35 – 40 passes through the brains of many mice, and eventually the virus morphs into a less virulent form that isn’t a threat and can be injected into a human, thus triggering the immune system to a response.

    But as it’s been pointed out before, viruses rarely if ever travel alone. Other (retroviruses) are picked up and hitch a ride on the backs of the intended virus. It isn’t vaccines that people fear – it’s the justifiable fear of the way they’re made.

    @Fred

    This is a common misunderstanding.

    Viruses aren’t alive. While this is mostly due to the fact that they cannot reproduce by themselves they also don’t use energy, move, consume nutrients, or really do anything on their own. Even the most simple bacterium or parasite is far more functional than a virus.

    A virus is a blob of genetic code surrounded by a protein “shell.” Different viruses have different code, different types of shells, and even different things connected to the shell. To replicate, the virus first attaches to a part of the human cell and the cell is more or less tricked into taking the virus inside of it. Once inside, the genetic code inside the viral protein shell is released into the cell. The problem is that the cell gets tricked into reading the code and following whatever it says to do – like a computer virus, the virus is basically rogue code that hijacks the machine. The human cell then replicates the genetic code of the virus, makes a protein coat to put it inside, and then spits it outside of the cell, where it infects other cells. This process occurs simultaneously and repetitively, resulting in exponential increase in the number of copies of the virus in the body, which is ripe for spreading to other cells (or cough droplets).

    Two reasons people get sick 1-this process often causes the cells to die, literally explode, or become nonfunctional. 2-in an effort to get rid of the virus, the body kills its own infected cells or shuts them down, sometimes going a little TOO far.

    If someone is infected with millions of copies of the virus, they’re gonna be sick. They’re coughing and coughing and spraying thousands and thousands of copies of the virus in the air. Someone who’s not real sick doesn’t really have that many copies of the virus, possibly because their immune system got it under control early on. When they cough (if they even do) they might spew a few hundred, or 10, or maybe just a few. Someone who is on the receiving end isn’t going to be infected if they only inhale 1 copy. If they inhale hundreds or thousands of copies they’re more likely to get sick. If they inhale hundreds of thousands they’re definitely getting sick.

    @Herschel, I watched perhaps 3/4 of the talk with Paul Cottrell and Judy Mikovits that you posted. I already wasn’t taking any vaccines that they come out with and now, well I’m not more certain, just educated as to why my gut goes full on NOOOOOO about it.

    That the RNA of every cell in your body is modified seems like the perfect precursor, it occurred to me, to inject a second modification that kills you, all very sterile seeming where the goal is to reduce population or make people stupid(er) or more docile etc all the while appearing to be a disease.

    When people say that they want to control and kill people I listen.

    Take heart. Except for a couple outliers medicine has never been science. Yes, it’s based on it and we trumpet medical progress, but the majority of your colleges will run on rote memorization. Barry Marshall, Robin Warren and stomach ulcers are an example; a decade after the demonstration (because no-one would accept their lab results) my coworker was still prescribed acid neutralizers. The Nobel was awarded as much to cover the community’s incompetance as the virtual elimination of stomach ulcers and cancer.

    There is a need, a desperate need, for educated, open and inquiring minds in medicine.

    But to today’s subject, the medical community is acting about the same as it always has. They are human, and the vast majority of people follow along with what’s safe and others approve of. But we need the exceptions too (to make real progress) and you are one of those.
