Nigerian Christians: Muslim Extremists ‘Hunting and Killing Us’ Daily

The Washington Stand.

On Pentecost Sunday in Abuja, Nigeria, four gunmen stormed a Catholic Church during mass, massacring at least 50 worshippers in one of the most brutal rampages of the year. As word of the attack spread, so too did outrage that the violence in this African nation continues on.

While Christians have been routinely targeted by Nigeria’s Islamic extremists, this latest slaughter — in the country’s relatively peaceful southwest — is sounding new alarms. “It is a black Sunday in Owo,” Ondo’s governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu, said, condemning a “vile and satanic attack” against people “who have enjoyed relative peace over the years.”

Just a handful of days earlier, black-clad extremists wielding AK-47s reportedly opened fire as believers left an evening service in Nigeria’s Adu Village, leaving three — including a young girl — “seriously injured,” locals confirmed. Islamic extremists are “hunting and killing us on a daily basis,” often “intimidating us by displacing us through burning of our houses and properties, and destroying our farms,” one individual told International Christian Concern.

News of both shootings coincided with the publication of the 2021 Report on International Religious Freedom.

“I’m still upset about last year’s removal of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern,” said Sam Brownback, former ambassador-at-large for International Religious Freedom under President Donald Trump, before Sunday’s tragedy. “That was not called for. The situation continues to be terrible, and that’s shown forth, as well, in the report.”

The State Department records 1,112 conflict-related deaths in Nigeria in 2021, many of them clashes between religious groups. “In May, criminals shot and killed eight Christians and burned down a church and several homes in Kaduna State,” the report states. On September 26-27, “Muslim herders killed at least 49 persons and abducted 27, most of whom were Christian, in several attacks on communities in religiously mixed southern Kaduna State.” The report also cites “several cases” of “Muslim men kidnapping young Christian girls and forcing them into marriage and conversion to Islam.”

Many familiar with the situation expressed disbelief that the Biden administration had removed the 211-million-strong nation from its circle of concern. Family Research Council’s Lela Gilbert, senior fellow for International Religious Freedom, has been appalled at the lack of urgency from Nigeria’s president and other world leaders.

Oh stop it.  Just stop it once and for all.

Stop this notion that there is such a thing as the world police.  This entire awful situation is due to Christians misunderstanding the Scriptures and ascribing to Christ things He didn’t say and positions He doesn’t hold.

The answer is to pick up a gun and go to war against the Muslims.  Don’t ask for outside help.  There will be none forthcoming.

Christian men are responsible for themselves, their families, and their communities.  Provide for your own protection.  Kill the intruders and terrorists.  Protect your own.

Prior to about fifty years ago, it was still common to find academic works of history which dealt honestly with the 1,400 year-long twilight struggle between Islam and the non-Muslim world, but since that time, such works have largely been purged from history curricula in American schools, not just K-12, but college as well.

That purge may have to do with the petrodollar agreement being signed around that time and rising influence of the Sunni Arab nations in the U.S., or perhaps it has to do with the political ascendancy of the baby boomers and “red-diaper doper babies” into positions of power around that time.

Regardless, if you want to learn something useful about Islam and its war with the West (and indeed with the civilized world as a whole), you probably need to seek out an old book.

There are high-quality, even superb, sources in today’s world, but they are not in the mainstream of educational curricula or mainstream published. Raymond Ibrahim, Steve Emerson, Bridgette Gabriel, and Robert Spencer are just some of the dissidents doing yeoman work. Dr. Bill Warner’s “Center for Political Islam” has done some very timely and valuable work as well. Geert Wilder’s “Marked for Death” is also extremely good.

Going further back in time, seek out the writings upon Islam of such historical figures as Winston Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and his son, John Quincy Adams, to name a few.

Miguel de Cervantes, the Spanish-born author famous for “Don Quixote” and other medieval works of literature, fought in the Battle of Lepanto on 7 October 1571, and was subsequently captured by the forces of the Ottoman Empire in 1575. Imprisoned for five years, he was freed during a prisoner exchange in 1580/

According to noted historian Will Durant, Islam has been the greatest engine of mass death in human history, and the Muslims are its most-prolific mass murderers, with the blood of an estimated 270 million souls on their hands over the last 1,400 years. Muslims are also responsible for the largest single act of genocide in human history, the rape and slaughter of the Indian subcontinent during the 1500s when the Mughal Islamic rulers slew some fifty million Hindus and other non-Muslims.

Muslims are the greatest killers in human history and Islam is the most-prolific engine of mass death in human history, with the blood of some 230 million people on their hands.

Muslims are also responsible for the genocide historians regard as being the first such “modern” event of its kind, i.e., one which took place in the era of still and motion-picture photography and other forms of mass communications. This occurred in the genocide of 1.5 million Armenian and Greek Christians circa 1915-1921. The Turks took young Christian girls – virgins – and crucified them upon crosses, and then left them to die in the heat of the desert. Photographs still exist of this horrific event, and even a century after the fact, it is chilling to look upon them.

Muslims are still murdering non-Muslims in today’s world, although of course, sharia law does not consider the killing of infidels to be murder. Indeed, waging such jihad is praiseworthy in Allah’s eyes.

Until being deposed in a coup in 2019, Sudanese president and Sunni Muslim Omar al-Bashir had used the Sudanese military as a tool of tyranny with which to hunt and attack non-Muslims/infidels in the Sudan. His helicopter gun ships bombed, rocketed and strafed Christian churches and villages known to the government, and committed many other atrocities.

Sudanese non-Muslims finally armed themselves and began to fight back, ultimately winning for themselves the new nation of South Sudan. Fierce Islamic Janjaweed tribesmen, however, still mount raids into South Sudan in search of loot and children and women to take as slaves and for ransom.

The Muslims are also the most-prolific slavers in history: They have captured, bought, sold and kept more slaves than anyone else in history. Not only were many millions of black Africans taken as slaves by them, so were millions upon millions of whites (Europeans), taken in raids as far afield as Iceland, Ireland and what is today SW Russia.

Unknown to most modern readers, Muslim nations have only outlawed slavery within the last sixty years, and some nations -the west African nation of Mauritania, for example, did not make the practice illegal until the 21st century. In any case, such laws are largely pro forma anyway, since slavery remains extremely common in the Islamic world. It is simply practiced more quietly and away from the public eye.

The 2008 action film “Taken,” starring Liam Neeson, was fiction, but based firmly upon fact. It is entirely factual that a lucrative slave trade exists in Europe, which deals in young women and teenage girls kidnapped, addicted to drugs, and then sold into slavery. Why Europe? Fair-haired and fair-skinned women are highly-sought-after in the Islamic world since such females are rare in the Islamic world proper.

Mohammed himself, the prophet of Islam, exhorted his followers before one such slave raid almost 1500 years ago, asking his men in Arabic, “Do you want the Banu al-Asfar?” which means “Do you want the ‘children of the yellow’?” That is what the soldiers of Allah called light-skinned and fair-haired women of Byzantium and SE Europe.

    One further note…

Inadvertently, I listed Durant’s estimate as 230 million and also as 270 million. The reader should bear in mind that such figures cannot be determined with any absolute certainty, and that the reason I listed both is that I have seen both. Contemporary sources in India corroborate Durant’s estimate, indeed – some have said it was too low.

Regardless of the true losses inflicted, there is no question that the Muslims are history’s most-prolific mass murderers. Only the communists in the 20th century have given them any sort of competition in that department.

All the references to warriors, strong leaders, hymns of Christian soldiers, heck Jesus’ own words and yet we have this dead fish handshake version of Christian meekness.

I agree completely with your comments and wish more Christians did as well
Nowhere in Scripture does God say we should be doormats.

According to Voice of the Martyrs, there are “significant” numbers of African Muslims who are coming to Christ, so one thing we need to do to be faithful to the Word is to pray for our enemies…we should ask God to grant them repentance.

That is as much as I can muster towards Muslims, Hindus, and the current crop of demonic atheists in our government.

There are a number of reasons Africa is in many ways ground zero for the war between Islam and everyone else.

First, under Islamic doctrine, if a given place has once been under Islamic control, then even if it changes hands again and falls under infidel (non-Muslim) control, it is still regarded as being the property of Muslims. This is why many Muslims refer to Spain as “al-Andalus,” which is the Islamic term for the Iberian peninsula – Spain and Portugal. A place they conquered and held for seven centuries before being forced out in 1492.

Second, the imams and other movers-and-shakers within the Islamic world regard Africa as their backyard, their territory, so they – fellow Muslims included – react very aggressively to the idea that Christianity is the fastest-growing religion on that continent.

Third, the Muslims know as well as anyone the great mineral and natural resource wealth to be found in Nigeria, in particular its substantial oil and natural gas reserves. These are also in play in the fight between the infidels and the believers.

Dr. Peter Hammond, a missionary and scholar, has done many trips to the most-dangerous and war-torn parts of Africa, and his books – such as “Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and the Contemporary Threat” (2010) – are fascinating, if at times harrowing, reading for those interested in expanding their knowledge. A courageous soul, Hammond has “been there, done that” in some of the most-violent and dangerous hot-spots on earth and has had a lot of close shaves over the years, but still continues to speak out.

Not as easily done as said.

In Nigeria, it may be difficult to see civilians who possess guns or ammunition legally. This is because the law does not allow just any person have access to these firearms because they can pose a threat to others.

Firearms in Nigeria are governed and enforced by the Firearms Act. This law regulates the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification and use of arms by civilians. It also restricts the use of other weapons such as explosives, crossbows, swords, electroshock weapons, air guns and pepper spray.

Although the use of firearms is restricted, it is not impossible to own a gun in Nigeria as a person may apply to obtain a gun license

What do you need to get a license?

    1. Visit the office of the Police Commissioner in his or her state, and make a request to the relevant authority.

    2. An Application form would be issued to you. It must be completed and submitted with all the required documents attached.

    3. You would then be allowed to purchase a gun from the operations department of the Nigeria Police Force, and thereafter provide the serial number of the gun to the police. They will then register it on their records.

    4. The application documents will be examined thoroughly along with all necessary attached documents.

    5. If the documents are sufficient, actions would be taken to grant you the license.

    6. When the license is ready, you will be contacted to receive it.

Plenty of room in there to obtain bribes. Remember, the most powerful word in a bureaucracy is “NO”, and bureaucrats love to use it, especially when “NO” means “Gimme money.”

    Also see:

“[C]ivilians are not allowed to possess machine-guns, military rifles and handguns … private possession of semi-automatic assault weapons [and] private possession of handguns (pistols and revolvers) is prohibited,” the site advises. Add to that licensing, background checks and registration for what they are allowed to own, a prohibition on concealed carry, and stiff criminal penalties for gun law violations, and Nigeria is one of those places where not only are the “law-abiding” at an extreme disadvantage but also a place that has enacted many of the same “commonsense gun safety laws” the Democrats are now furiously trying to impose on Americans.

Indeed. I can guarantee with near metaphysical certitude that none of those moslem murdering terrorists were in ‘legal’ possession of their arms.

The problems arise when the authorities arrive afterwards. The people who ‘took care of business’ need to have plans on how they and their arms quickly fade into the scenery as well as how surviving terrorists always seem to be able to.

Copy that, good addition to the list. The historian Bat Ye’or has written extensively on the so-called “Euro-Arab dialog” and its implications, as well as the ongoing colonization & conquest of that continent by the diaspora of the Third World, including the Muslims.

    “Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis” (2005)
