How China could use U.S. farmland to attack America
BY Herschel SmithChinese entities have been acquiring land in key locations near U.S. military bases, sparking national security concerns about possible spying — or even a potential attack.
Former national security official David Feith laid out the potential risk in an interview with 60 Minutes. Feith worked on U.S.-China policy for the State Department in the first Trump administration, and until April, worked in Trump’s second administration on the National Security Council. While there, he grew increasingly alarmed by where China owns America’s farmland.
“The ability to own large tracts of land, especially close to sensitive U.S. military and government facilities, can pose an enormous problem given the nature of technology today, which is that hostile actor from all across the world can very easily exploit access to land, access to buildings and warehouses, access just to a shipping container or two and do enormous damage, either in intelligence terms or in military terms,” Feith told 60 Minutes.
Only a society that is sick unto death and desires its own destruction would give away the farm to its declared enemy.
That’s American politicians and bureaucrats for you. Sick unto death, desiring the destruction of America.

If I was running things I would continue to allow China to “buy” US land…which they CAN’T take anywhere. We get their money and when the time comes we simply say “you no longer can own US land”. Do to them exactly what they do to others…

You’d have to confiscate the land back before they launched all of those drones into the air around the military bases, comms and industry.

Fedgov allows this to continue on the name of intelligence gathering. You bet fedgov is watching them like a hawk. I’d be surprised if the lands were not peppered with sensors. And if every now then the feds bag a commie that is a plus. Turning them into informants is a goal. So what a community feels threatened. It is the 4th branch of government at work.
Evil and wicked? It sure is.

Re: “How China could use U.S. farmland to attack America”
In 1999, two senior (full) colonels of the People’s Liberation Army-Navy of China, Qiao Liang and Wang Xiangsui, released a book entitled “Unrestricted Warfare,” whose subject was how the PRC (People’s Republic of China) could defeat “a technologically superior opponent” (The book, which has since been translated into English, is available for interested parties).
Though unnamed, the presumptive opponent in the book is the United States. And the PRC has been war-gaming with the U.S. as the presumptive opponent since the early 1990s.
The book’s authors contemplate the use of anything and everything which can be turned into a weapon, and ask rhetorically where the battlefield begins and ends.
The reality is that Red China is already at war with the United States, and has been for some time now. Because it is not yet a war of bullets and bombs, many Americans do not understand this reality for what it is: An unconventional or asymmetric conflict. Some specialists would call it 4GW – fourth generation warfare – and there are other names for it as well.
Flooding the country with cheap, highly-potent fentanyl is one example of a military operation which is being conducted in this country with the aid of the Chinese military and government. But because the Chinese are using the Mexican cartels as cut-outs, or intermediaries, they are able to maintain a degree of deniability.
Sun Tzu, the ancient Chinese military philosopher studied the world over, wrote often of defeating an enemy before battle is ever joined. This is what the PRC government is attempting to do – weaken and degrade our society and culture in any way possible, thereby – they hope – weakening our ability to wage conventional war, should it come to that.
It is incomprehensibly stupid and foolish to allow a potential enemy – or an actual one – to purchase a strategic resource inside one’s country, as well are now doing with the Chinese purchases of farmland and much else inside the USA.
And make no mistake that the PRC are being aided and abetted by fifth-columnists and Quislings inside the U.S. Some of whom occupy positions of great power and influence.
The Chinese, wily poker players that they are – are acting as friends and enemies simultaneously. They regard us as enemies, or at least their government does, but for the time being at least, they still need access to our markets. And regrettably, a great many American firms need access to theirs. Which is why at least for public consumption, everyone is still on friendly terms with smiles on their faces.
It is a strange world in which we live, is it not?
Kinetic conflict between the PRC and the U.S. isn’t inevitable, at least not yet. Indeed, from their perspective, as long as they are attaining their geopolitical and economic objectives without resorting to military force, they can continue to win this undeclared war. And they are winning it, without firing a shot. The hour is much latter than people believe.

It bears mentioning, too, that the PRC has used North Korea many times over the years as its proxy when attacking the West and in particular the United States. Pyongyang is the “attack dog” Beijing does not want to be itself, lest unfavorable publicity damage its relationship with the U.S. The North Korean Army has a special operations unit – Office 39 it is called – whose mission is the waging of asymmetric warfare against enemies of the regime.
At one time, Office 39 was heavily involved in criminal activities such as drug running and counterfeiting, both of which served as sources of hard currency needed by the regime to fund its atomic weapons and ballistic missile R&D and production. Kidnappings, assassinations, you name it they did it if helped the regime or raised money for it.
Naturally, Office 39 has also been heavily-involved in operations against South Korea, the United States ally opposite North Korea on the other side of the 38th Parallel.
