Beretta To Open Plant In Tennessee

Fox17 Nashville:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– Gallatin Industrial Park will be the new site for Beretta USA’s firearms manufacturing and R&D facility.

The move is expected to bring 300 new jobs in Sumner County according to Governor Bill Haslam. The facility itself will see an investment of $45 million dollars.

Executive vice-president Franco Gussalli Beretta says Governor Haslam and his economic team played a large role in “demonstrating the benefits of doing business in the state.”

Construction is expected to be completed this year.

Beretta had announced their plans to move from Maryland after the recent gun control measures passed, and we were waiting for it to happen.  I have several thoughts, but I’m tempted to say that Beretta is the loser because they didn’t choose South Carolina.

Honestly though, Maryland is the real loser in all of this, as is Connecticut, Colorado, and any other state that pursues these idiotic gun control measures.  And let’s be clear about one thing before the objection even gets raised like it was for Smith & Wesson when they announced that they were pulling out of the California market.  These companies are doing what they must to survive.  We gun owners are faithful rewarders of our friends and allies, and relentless and unforgiving punishers of compromisers.

Smith & Wesson, Remington, Kimber, Colt, Rock River Arms, Springfield Armory, are you listening?

I was ASTONISHED at the sheer number of big-name firearms manufacturers based in New York (Remington, Kahr, Ithaca), Connecticut (Colt, Marlin, O.F. Mossberg, Sturm Ruger & Co), and Massachusetts (Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory). While I can understand the historical significance of some of those locations, they all need to seriously consider moving.

Corporations may have “free-speech” rights, but the only vote they get is with their feet and tax revenues, and “sheltering in place” makes as little sense for a business in a politically-hostile area as it does for potential victims in a mass-murder event.

Southern (and Western) Maryland are a world apart from the B-W Parkway axis (though DC continues to creep into Charles and St Mary’s counties). I suppose it is the case in many states where the rural areas are hostage to urban liberalism.

Good move, Beretta; and I would hope that ALL arms manufacturers would refuse to sell to law enforcement bodies in states like California. The message should be clear, if you don’t want armed citizens in your state, we will help you achieve that, but we will not make exceptions based on clothing or uniforms.

We should all reward companies that leave the fascist states for free states! Magpul started this trend, but beretta leaving is a huge, huge deal. I wish colt would leave, but BCM is a great alternative that prob has slightly better quality control anyway. I know LMT is moving to Iowa as well.

Lets all post on their social media pages and sites thanking them for standing up for the second amendment!

I think Ithaca is owned by CZ now as well as Dan Wesson.

Hershel is that the same Illinois that had to be dragged kicking and screaming around to following a little bit of the “Law of the Land”? S.A. should kick the dust of the state of Chicago off their shoes.
