Whose Job Did You Say That Was?
BY Herschel SmithI neither need nor want "protection" from LE or the military. That's why we have a second amendment. It is my job to do that. And it's the job of every man to provide protection for his home, hearth and family. Thus, ownership and usage of weapons is a God-given duty.

Could you imagine being that dull and clueless to think that government apparatchik cares or it is their job to protect you.

If military and police are the only ones, at what point does this amount to arming orders against Americans?

Self-serving.
Representative Pat Harrigan is a former Green Beret.
It was a 1945 novel about a communist takeover that used to be required reading in school.
Looks like Congressman Harrigan didn’t have to read it or he forgot it.
You’ll recognize a famous quote from it,
“All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others”.
First there was the LEOSA, and now this.
Let me update Orwell’s quotation to fit,
“All citizens are created equal, but some citizens are more equal than others”.

The late Dr. R.J. Rummel was a political scientist noted for his career-long research into the nature and causes of genocide, democide and mass murder. One of his many important findings was that one is at far-greater risk of premature death from one’s own government gone genocidal than from any external invader.
The Founding Fathers knew some of this history, which is one of the reasons they gave us the Second Amendment.
Another of Rummel’s important findings was that would-be genocidal governments almost always disarm or attempt to disarm those they would persecute or liquidate. In ancient times, this took the form of control of edged weapons and also of bows and cross-bows. In the modern world, since the late 19th century, this usually means gun control/prohibition.
Going back to the Armenian genocide of 1915-1921, the Ottoman Empire disarmed its intended victims in the years before the actual killings took place – thus depriving the Armenian and Greek Christians the form of personal defense most-effective against the police and military.
Stalin, Hitler and Mao all practiced gun control, and the list of other tyrants who did also is quite lengthy…. but the three of them alone slew more than a hundred million people, according to some estimates.

@ Georgiaboy, speaking of tyrannical rulers, why are American school children only taught about the holocaust and not at all about the Holodomor?
Canada and Australia are pretty close to being lined up and shot in the streets. They never should have surrendered their guns. There’s good news in western Canada though, they seem to have had enough of Ottawa.

That’s a very good question, one I have asked myself for many years. About twenty years ago, I looked at Hollywood and asked why there had never been films about any of the other genocides in history, such as the Armenian genocide, the Rape of Nanking or the Holomodor? The answers to those questions were part of the “truth-pilling” process that began around that time for me.
Let’s just say that certain groups of people in society have very possessive ideas about the term “Holocaust” and when, where and to whom it is applied.
And not just in the U.S., either. Imagine my surprise a few years back when I learned that Israel was cooperating with Turkey to quash public discussion of the Armenian genocide, in the modern world. Why on earth would they do that? Well, see the comment above.
Regarding Canada, globalist PM Mark Carney is starting to speak of the U.S. in terms which sound a lot like war or imminent war. This is of concern, because the Canadian political left is rather friendly with the PRC and we share a very long – and largely unprotected – border with Canada. I’m sure you can read a map as well as I can.

Even if you DID want the police to “protect” you, the courts have decisively ruled that they are under NO OBLIGATION TO DO SO.
The relevant case law is Castle Rock v. Gonzalez and Warren v. District of Columbia. Read up on the facts of those cases, they’re truly sick. Even if you end up getting gang-raped or murdered, the police have NO obligation to protect you.
Despite that, the police in many jurisdictions can and do prevent you from having the means to defend yourself, and will arrest and incarcerate you if you have those means without their “permission.”
“Free country,” my ass.
