This seems accurate.

Enh, he just followed the long tradition of “conservative” Republican appointees who “grew” once on the Court.

From the standpoint of the average citizen, your Joe/Jane Six-pack type of person, it probably seems axiomatic that a person of good-upstanding moral character would be preferable as a political leader to one whose character is deficient or even amoral.

However, from the standpoint of the oligarchs and the others who run the shadowy government within a government known as the deep-state, morally-compromised people make much better fodder as political and other leaders.

The whole modus operandi of someone like George Soros – the reclusive billionaire, leftist and globalist – is that he exercise his (considerable) influence indirectly, at some steps removed from the target or object of his influence. He needs to maintain plausible deniability, i.e., enough distance between himself and the direct-action parts of his enterprises, so that if things go sideways, he’s protected.

Guys like Soros often use a classic carrot-and-stick approach to influence and control people.

People useful to him can be cultivated via a variety of means, ranging from lucrative job offers in his many firms and non-profits, to cash or other gifts, to favors of influence, and so forth.

However, if these prove to be inadequate, it is always handy to have the stick, something with which to punish the “employee” or “asset” which gets out of line. The punishment can range from withdrawal of privileges or funds, to loss of employment or position, to outright strong-arming, threats and blackmail. Or, in extremis, murder.

This is why a morally-deficient person is so useful to the deep-state. Hypothetically-speaking, if the deep-state and its operatives can catch or trap a targeted individual – such as a member of the Supreme Court of the United States – in their net, engaged in some sort of immoral, illegal or outrageous activity (the worse the better, as far as the blackmailers are concerned) or behavior, then they own that asset. And can leverage his/her behavior and actions accordingly.

If a given justice, for example, has ridden the “Lolita Express” belonging to the now-deceased Jeffrey Epstein and gone to his private island for the indulgence of his most-perverse sexual fantasies, then that info is of enormous use to his handlers. If the target is thinking of acting in a way contrary to your wishes as an oligarch, you simply remind him how easy it would be for you to expose him and destroy his career and life. Presto, no problems now! Need Obamacare passed? No sweat, consider it done!

The methods above have been used by intelligence services and other black-bag artists for a very long time, and they also form a staple of wartime foreign espionage action as well.

Sexual entrapment of one or more enemy agents/assets or operatives using a seductive allied agent/assets is so common that it is known colloquially in the business as a “honey trap.”

The David Petraeus-Paula Broadwell affair had all of the hallmarks of such an operation, although from the outside looking in, it is not possible to determine if such was actually the case.

The attempted coup against the Trump government is as much about the explosive scandals hidden behind the calm facade of official Washington, as any defects, real or imagined, Trump may have as a leader. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of high-level permanent and elected officials from the federal bureaucracy and the three main branches of elected government – have been ensnared in the Epstein scandal /pedophilia net. Those so trapped are now fighting desperately to keep from being exposed, and their livelihoods and careers ruined, with lengthy prison time ahead of them – or worse.

While many of the names are anonymous to the general public, many more are not. Even Prince Andrew of the British House of Windsor is rumored to have been in Ghislaine Maxwell’s little black book.

So profound is the panic inside the ruling class of the West, that its richest members are now snapping up bolt-holes, estates and hideaways in out-of-the-way places like New Zealand, in case things get too hot in their present domiciles and they have to take it on the lam.

  3. On December 10, 2020 at 8:56 am, Name (required) said:

Trump could offer the supremes a choice between a) do the right thing, and be allowed to retire, or b) be hung for treason and replaced by someone who will do the right thing.

Honorable men wouldn’t respond well to that, but the supremes have already established that they are not honorable men. The nine traitors will shy away from the lead and go for the gold, as they always have.

Robert’s deranged Obamacare ruling was a real stunner (it literally killed Scalia). One could look, to the smiling glances, Obama and Roberts gave each other. At Obama’s State of the Union. Kinda creepy it was (liked they had shared intimate moments even).

But yeah, it obviously something much more sinister and profound (than Roberts wanting to be popular at Manhattan cocktail parties). Something, that if it came to light? Would be his last day on the bench.

  6. On December 10, 2020 at 11:34 pm, Sisu said:

@Georgiaboy61 I agree. And, will attempt to build on your initial premise (first two paragraphs).

The same dynamics you describe are why certain individuals “succeed in business” – they “sell out”; then they cannot “refuse” to do the bidding of those that allow them to perpetuate the “persona, and monetary rewards, of ‘success'”. …

Like any “adversarial encounter” it is always the one who perceives they have more to lose that is “owned”. … “Conscience”, “reputation”, “status”, “self-image” are more valuable to a “good person” than money; and so have great leverage to sociopaths. …

Then there is the “group think” and trappings of economic success, which for too many Americans is their greatest weakness – there is always another who seems to have more.

And all of us (to some extent) have allowed our possessions to possess us … and attempted to buy safety with “tribute” and convenience with “fiat paper”, while confusing “compliance expertise” and advanced vocational training with ‘knowledge”, “enlightenment” and “wisdom”, as well transactions and creation of documentation with productive, life sustaining work and activities.

We are so consumed with “self” and our own safety, well-being and “success”, we readily ignore that the ultimate objective of each of our being is to perpetuate life itself. …

    J. Roberts is likely a manifestation of these same failings; and so rationalizes whatever decision perpetuates his own success with the least controversy.

  7. On December 11, 2020 at 12:36 am, Hudson H Luce said:

It would be the easiest route to kick the matter back to the state legislatures, and the Republicans who control all four of the legislatures in question would have to step up – or face certain consequences if they did not. If Biden – or Harris – makes controversial moves, those moves would be opposed in at least 20 states, perhaps resulting in nullification, or in the last resort, secession. I do not envy SCOTUS, I hope they take the case. By now, it is obvious that there has been massive fraud, aided and abetted by the Democrat governors and secretaries of state in those states, and by painfully partisan judges, many of whom refused to consider evidence, and rendered quick decisions. If nothing else, it shows that the government is broken and corrupt and must be altered or abolished, in the words of Jefferson.

“The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws.” ― Tacitus, The Annals of Imperial Rome.
