Retired ATF Agent Says AR-15 Rifles Should Be Regulated Like Machine Guns

BY Herschel Smith

The Hill:

David Chipman, a retired Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agent, on Monday said AR-15 rifles should be regulated like machine guns.

“What I support is treating them just like machine guns,” Chipman, who is now a senior policy adviser at Giffords: Courage to Fight Gun Violence, told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and Krystal Ball on “Rising.”

“To me, if you want to have a weapon of war, the same gun that was issued to me as a member of [the] ATF SWAT team, it makes sense that you would have to pass a background check, the gun would have to be in your name, and there would be a picture and fingerprints on file,” he continued.

“To me, I don’t mind doing it if I want to buy a gun. These policies just protect the criminal. Like, I don’t think you should be able to anonymously purchase 20 AR-15s at one time, and the government shouldn’t know,” he said. “I don’t think it’s unreasonable at all that you have to pass a background check to own a weapon of war.”

Hmm … it’s a short hop and a skip from “weapon of war” to the Winchester Model 70 used by Carlos Hathcock, yes?  Or the Benelli shotguns used by the Marines for room clearing operations in Now Zad.  Or the venerable 1911 pistol used by John Basilone in his famous battle.

I suppose that Chapman doesn’t want people to be able to defend themselves from multiple home invaders as did Zach Peters or Stephen Bayezes.  Well, honestly, you can tack on others in that category.

So now you know what kind of people populate the ATF.  But you knew that already, didn’t you?  Instead of regulating AR-15s, I think we should regulate people who think AR-15s should be regulated.  They are a threat to liberty.

Good luck with that. I have no doubt that this country’s “Law Enforcement” and its “Legal” system will promptly agree to “regulate” these fine members of the Blue Wall. Just as they have promptly identified and dealt appropriately with those in their ranks who have committed fraud, corruption, treason, and sedition. Surely Rule of Law is currently at its high point in this country!

Man, I have started to repond to several recent stories posted on TCJ lately and I stopped because of an overwhelming desire for persec. This man is simply cancer to free society. What does one do when one contracts cancer? We cut it out, we irradiate it into submision, we kill it with 10,000 mg of intravenous Vitamin C, we weed it into oblivion with wholesome and natural goodness….and on and on. Just sayin’ Sat cong y’all and as CA mentions frequently, you are working on your local accountability lists right?

“In order to purchase and own a machine gun, owners must go through background checks and allow the federal government to conduct searches.”

The article’s writer is an idiot. She fails to mention that citizens can no longer purchase currently manufactured machine guns, only MGs produced prior to 1986. 30+ year old weapons.

And the government isn’t allowed to conduct searches in the owner’s home, if that’s what she’s implying, just because you own a machine gun.

David nitwit….it’s none of your business what I own. You go right ahead and fingerprint yourself and pass a background check when you buy a “weapon of war.”

Me…I’ll continue to take moose with a “weapon of war.” And who buys “anonymously,” firearms anyway, 20 or more?

The government, you, have no business of my business. Fuck off g-man.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Whoops, Missed that one- Tench Coxe said that the “Militia needs to be Equipped with Every Terrible Instrument of the Soldier”. The ‘ATF SWAT Team’
is Nowhere Mentioned in the Constitution. So this feral .gov creature has NO RIGHT to own a “Weapon of War”.

That’s one of those “FAIL” items, across the board, with current ‘law enforcement’ concepts – the po-Lice have been ‘Militarized’ beyond any Recognition as a ‘civilian’ entity- they have become the Standing, Domestic Army that the Founders saw as a Threat to Liberty.

The Excuse that “Law Enforcement’ needs Automatic Weapons, MRAP’s, and Helicopters, and needs to play “Dress Up” (like Militia Members) because of “Gangs”, “Terrrists” Drug Dealers (and the occasional Moonshiner) is Complete self-serving Horse Manure. It May be justifiable for a Peace Officer to carry a Pistol for Self-Defense, but beyond that, (at least around Here) the ELECTED Sheriff could ‘Call Up a Posse’ with a couple of (WWII) Tanks, any number of Belt-Feds, and several Helicopters, that would (if it wasn’t for the feral .gov) Quickly Negate the presence of “MS-13”, “los Lobos” and the rest of the cockroach gang presence.

This Crap of revenue officers writing Traffic Tickets while Dressed and Equipped as if they are in Helmland County, Afghanistan, does Not deserve any Respect.

p.s. wtf is the U.S. Army doing in Helmland County Afghanistan in the First Place? Oh, yeah, the Spice (Poppies) must Flow (Grow).
