New York Court Holds Stun Gun Ban is Not Unconstitutional, in Contravention of Caetano

Herschel Smith · 30 Mar 2025 · 2 Comments

Dean Weingarten has a good find at Ammoland. Judge Eduardo Ramos, the U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York,  has issued an Opinion & Order that a ban on stun guns is constitutional. A New York State law prohibits the private possession of stun guns and tasers; a New York City law prohibits the possession and selling of stun guns. Judge Ramos has ruled these laws do not infringe on rights protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Let's briefly…… [read more]

Theft Of Guns And Other Valuables At The New Orleans Airport

BY Herschel Smith

News from Louisiana.

A Metairie man who worked for a company contracted to maintain the baggage handling system at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is accused looting items from travelers’ luggage on the job, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Karl Brown Jr., 20, was arrested and booked with three counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of theft and possession of marijuana, said Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the department.

“They stole cash, guns, electronics and other property from the baggage,” Rivarde said, noting that the woman will face similar charges once she is brought to Jefferson parish.

Brown and his alleged co-conspirator are accused of stealing from passengers’ bags between December 2019 and May 2020, according to Sheriff’s Office records. Searches of Brown’s Metairie apartment turned up property that had been reported missing by travelers, including:

– A $10,000 Rolex watch, a $1,300 Gucci purse, a $900 Prada purse and jewelry, all taken from an El Paso woman’s suitcase when she flew home from a trip to New Orleans on March 2.

– A 9mm pistol, ammunition and magazines and a knife, all inside a locked gun box, stolen from a man’s luggage during an April 27 trip from New Orleans to Tampa.

– An iPod, a tripod, two suits and other clothing stolen from a man’s suitcase during his March 12 trip from New Orleans to Los Angeles.

Investigators stressed that Brown and the other suspect were not baggage handlers, airline employees or Transportation Safety Administration agents. They worked for company that repairs the baggage system within the airport, Rivarde said.

Anyone who has access to the airport behind the wall can pull this off, at least until they’re caught.  This is a risk when we fly with firearms.

Remember when I said this?  “Let’s face it, folks.  Since we are dropping off the luggage and we are picking it up, the only necessity for the luggage to be locked up is what happens behind the wall.  The only good of locking up the gun is theft by airport employees.  We know it, the TSA knows it, and the airlines know it.  It’s the truth.  None of this has anything to do with security.  It’s all about airport theft by airline or airport employees.”

Yea.  I’m straight up with you.  And data most often proves me correct on these things.  Having said that, this isn’t much to be proud of.  Anyone with two brain cells already knew this.

Pulled From The Car And Assaulted By Antifa/BLM

So I feel it’s time to remember Herschel’s Dictum.  It’s so important that it bears repeating.

Antifa/BLM Tactics And The Corollary Future Bloodshed

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 2 months ago

Michael Yon has told me that he is heading back to the states from Thailand to help cover current events.  This is good, as Michael will no doubt be boots on the ground.  He will get first hand pictures, video and reports of what is happening in Portland, Seattle, Austin, and the other hell holes in America.

Andy Ngo is about the only reporter who is providing accurate, good, informative and honest reporting of Antifa and BLM.  The tactics in use by Antifa/BLM are more well-rehearsed than just several years ago, including better communications, leadership, the use of green light lasers (I have thoughts on amelioration of that threat), the use of hammers and baseball bats, breaking windows, blocking roadways and means of egress, boxing in and attacking cars, and on the list could go.

The newly elected Portland DA is aligned with Antifa, and said so himself.  The Portland and Seattle city councils and mayors are aligned with Antifa/BLM, as is the case in Austin.  The politicians (and by extension, the police) are protecting Antifa.  The squad of communists in the House is calling for unrest in the streets.

To a large degree, they have been protected and coddled.  Andy Ngo points out that as soon as charged by police, the Antifa crowds evaporate (see also this post).  Several misguided Antifa folks thought they would crash the biker rally at Sturgis.  This was a mistake, and were it not for the police, those folks might have been killed.

This protection and coddling will redound to much difficulty and perhaps bloodshed in the coming days.  As Antifa presses out into the suburbs of America, bringing their tactics with them of busting windows, burning houses, threatening women and children, millions of homeowners with firearms will return the threat in kind.

By protecting, encouraging and coddling Antifa/BLM at the present rather than shutting it down, the pols are simply ensuring the coming bloodshed.  Maybe that’s what they want to see.

John MacArthur: “We’re Having Church!”

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 2 months ago

I have a lot of things in common with John.  He is a reformed Baptist, and I hold completely to the Westminster Confession of Faith, so he and I differ on baptism and eschatology.  Other than that, I’ve enjoyed his sermons when I’ve heard them.  He is a decent and honorable man, and a good teacher.

He stated in an earlier video (if I’m not mistaken) that he hadn’t had any pastors in America – any pastors in America – contact him and offer support, prayers or encouragement for his stand against the state and intent to have worship services.  Ponder that.

Churches have shut down all over America based on the word of the state, while making [false] claims that the Christ is the head of their church.  Christ is indeed the head of the church, but not the head of fake churches.

American seminaries have raised several generations of weak, effeminate, Biblically illiterate hypocrites who believe that Jesus was a Bohemian hippie flower child peacenik.  What would these pretend men do in the early church?

At the time of the Roman arenas, elders would baptize new converts, with both pastor and convert knowing that as soon as the baptism was completed, they were going to be arrested and thrown to their deaths.  Today in America, pastors cannot even bring themselves to be faithful to the apostle’s command in Hebrews 10:25 when the state gets pissy. God help them if they were to have to mount horses and drive raping, murderous invaders out during the Crusades.

It’s truly a sad state of affairs.  But if nothing else, this has done a lot to pull the mask off of the fake church (pun intended).

New Portland District Attorney Admits He Is “Old Buddies” With Antifa Militant

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 2 months ago

The Post Millennial.

Newly-elected District Attorney Mike Schmidt, who refuses to prosecute Portland rioters, admits he is “old buddies” with an Antifa militant campaigning to defund the police, abolish prisons, and demand reparations.

The last tweet from @DAMikeSchmidt, the new DA who isn’t prosecuting Portland rioters, is a tweet promoting an interview w/his “buddy,” a militant antifa activist. His friend is part of campaign by communist Angela Davis to defund police, abolish prisons & demand reparations. pic.twitter.com/uWHpAxhJn0

“Just before I was sworn in as DA, I sat down with an old buddy of mine, @AWKWORDrap, for an interview about my priorities as District Attorney and rethinking what public safety means,” Schmidt tweeted.

The hour-long Jul. 21 interview with Schmidt is a first in the series of “social justice leaders” features conducted by a self-described “Anti-Fascist” and “old time buddy” of Schmidt’s, social media personality Awkword.

Awkword leads the Ten Demands for Justice movement, “a roadmap for the defunding and then full abolition of police and prisons.”

Actually, I have to admit here that I have something in common with Antifa.  I don’t believe in the prison system either.  But something tells me they and I don’t see eye to eye on this.

As I’ve stated before, I believe in the Biblical concept of restitution and retribution.  If someone commits a crime worthy of death, he is to be executed.  If someone steals from you, he is to become your slave until it is paid back in multiples.  So I believe in slavery because the Bible does.  God believes in property rights.  There is no such thing as a crime against society.  All crimes are against specific persons.

As to the new Portland DA, I don’t really care that much.  It’s sad, indeed, that so many Portland residents are having to either live through this or move.  But the fact is that you voted on each and every council member, the mayor, and the DA.  It says so right there in the article.  “Newly elected.”  I didn’t make that up.

So things in Portland (and Seattle for that matter) are like they are because you, the citizens of Portland (and Seattle), want them to be that way.  You’ve said so many times.  Who am I to intervene in your knowing and intentional self destruction?

Theft Of UPS Gun And Ammunition Deliveries

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 2 months ago

Law Enforcement Today.

WEST COLUMBIA, SC — Five UPS employees were arrested last week in connection with guns stolen from the shipping company’s hub in West Columbia, according to Lexington County deputies.

The employees, all teenagers, were charged with breach of trust, according to a press release by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.

Byron Burke, 19, Jalen Green, 19, Dishon Kinney, 18, Kenyon Peters, 18, and Tre’von Williams, 19, are charged with breach of trust, according to arrest warrants. In addition, Kinney and Peters were also charged with criminal conspiracy.

“UPS’ security team called us in as soon as they became aware of guns being stolen from incoming trucks.”

Once deputies started investigating, they discovered a plan to steal guns from incoming packages at the UPS hub. Deputies say the five men sold the guns or gave them away on company time.

Right down the road from PSA.  So if you’ve noticed that you haven’t received shipments, or that shipments were delayed, this may be the reason why.

Dean Weingarten On Antifa Blocking Traffic In Indianapolis

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 2 months ago

Ammoland.

While members of the group tried to redirect traffic, a driver in a blue truck revved the engine, sending protesters scrambling to the sidewalk. One protester, who only identified himself as “Icon,” pulled a gun on the driver.

“I was scared he was going to kill me,” he said. “I stepped in front of a little girl when he revved his engine, but, yes, I absolutely drew a gun to defend myself.”

We covered this and you saw the video.

First of all, he’s lying.  He didn’t step in front to protect anyone.  Second, notice how light becomes darkness and darkness becomes light.

The driver is the perpetrator of the crime according to him.  It’s not him blocking traffic without an assembly permit, it’s some guy trying to get to work or get home.

The truth doesn’t matter to them.  Their heart is darkness.

Well, not yet.  She’s been arrested and carted off to jail.  The only thing I didn’t hear from the officer was “Just doin’ my job ma’am.”  I did hear him say he’d been patient enough after he got pissy like a little girl.

It’s A Revolution!

Listen to her.  “It’s a revolution … hehe.”

Yea.  Until a 5.56mm round explodes your head, little girl.  I repeat.  Hundreds of millions of guns, billions of rounds of ammunition.  It hasn’t even really started yet.  These are just the skirmishes.
