More Islamist Violence Against Christians in Nigeria
BY Herschel SmithWe wouldn’t even be here discussing this is Christians armed themselves and fought back. For the life of me I cannot comprehend this notion of Jesus as a Bohemian, peacenik, flower child, hippie who wants to see families and people decimated.

The choices for infidels – non-Muslims – who find themselves under the control of Muslims are quite stark, according to sharia law and Islamic tradition.
An infidel can make the profession of faith and thereby become a Muslim and a member of the umma, the world-wide community of believers.
A kafir (infidel) can submit to Islamic control, and become a dhimmi – one who submits to Islam by paying the jizya tax and who accepts the authority of the caliph or sultan who rules the empire or caliphate. Dhimmis enjoy few rights or privileges and are considered inferior to Muslims in every respect.
Physically-fit men, women and children can be taken as captives to be sold into slavery or added to the harem of the sultan.
Although it is rare now, in the more-distant past, it was quite common for slaves – blacks, in particular – to be castrated prior to working in the households of prominent Muslims. Millions of men tortured/mutilated in this manner died in long pilgrimages across North Africa to the Middle East and Asia Minor, either of their wounds or lack of water and food.
Women and children were normally sold as slaves. Young and physically attractive women tended to fetch the best prices at the local bazaar, in particular if they had the light hair and skin of central and northern Europeans.
Some sultanates took men and cargoes for ransom, such as the Barbary Pirates of North Africa, whom the United States fought in its very first war as a nation. If not successfully exchanged for ransom, such men could be killed or sold into slavery.
At the conclusion of successful battles and raids by Islamic forces, it was quite common for the leader to put any surviving men – those old-enough to fight – to the sword.
The choices above, i.e., conversion, dhimmitude, enslavement, or death – are the only ones open to infidels if they are dealing with Muslims as conquerors.
The only other choice open to a non-Muslim is to fight, to resist by any means necessary.
Modern-day Europe would not exist in its present form today, if not for the bravery, fortitude and skill at arms of its Christian ancestors. The West, or Christendom as it was then called, was saved again and again by Christian fighting forces at Tours, France, in 732, at Lepanto in 1571, and at the Gates of Vienna in 1683, to name just a few examples from the 1,400-year conflict between Islam and the West.
The present-day situation in Nigeria is perplexing indeed. Christians there need only look at the plight of non-Muslims in the Sudan over the years when Muslim General Omar al-Bashir was president, 1989-2019. During which time Bashir used Sudanese Air Force helicopter gunships to strafe, rocket and bomb Christian villages and churches – and commit other war atrocities.
The plight of these Sudanese Christians became so great that they had to take up arms and also flee to the south, where they managed to form a new nation called South Sudan.
And what did the Islamic raiders of Boko Haram et al. promptly do? Start making raids into the South Sudan!
The Koran, Hadiths and the Sira all command perpetual warfare – jihad or holy war – against the infidels, until such time as all of the world lies inside the House of Islam or Dar al-Islam, as it is termed.
