It has come up in comments and posts, so I thought it would be time to broach this subject.  This isn’t intended to be comprehensive or even educated.  It’s a platform for you to add, subtract, or give your own opinions or products.

First of all, I found this DoD document detailing a number of different types of tourniquets and their potential failures and advantages.

In this document I found out that the type of tourniquet that I seek, a mechanical tourniquet (see here as well), is found to be superior in practice because of the difficulty of one-handed application and use.  The downside is that if a user turns the crank the wrong way he can break the mechanism, although that’s not a very common failure.

John Lovell has addressed the issue of full medical kits here, here and here.

If you have suggestions for med kits or tourniquets, please drop them in the comments and explain why you like them or have them.

Yes, I know that free men don’t ask permission.  And readers know I agree.  However, I hadn’t really followed the Young v Hawaii case, and this is a very good summary of what’s happened and what is yet to happen.

While Trump has made some good appointments to the ninth circuit, I do recall that he essentially threw one away.  I’m wondering if he wishes he had that one back?

It would be nice though, to get some conclusion on this to our liking. As I’ve stated so many times before, open carry is how gentlemen do it.

The report reads in part:

But we all knew this anyway.  Those of us who are thinking men, at any rate.

It’s easy to say that St. Jacob Blake was the start, but he was only the pretext for the violence in Kenosha.

Most of this comes from good friend Len Savage, via AR-15.com.  As it turns out, Kyle Rittenhouse attempted to do what he came for, i.e., protect property.

“Kyle apparently ran up at the gas station and provided a fire extinguisher that put out Pedo Boy’s dumpster fire that he was pushing into the gas station … It pissed pedo boy off and they attempted to ambush and set the kid on fire to teach him a lesson…”

Then came screams of “get him.”  They wanted to burn things, Kyle tried to stop it, and for that they chased him down.

This was all in self defense, as his lawyers are pointing out.  Oh, and they’re not done yet.  They want to know where he is.

Before all of that, the very start of another video shows the cops telling people to go home since “they are civilians.”  Nothing pisses me off more than hearing that.  Cops are civilians too.

Any questions on the sort of people you’re dealing with?  Three convicted criminals got shot, one a wife-beater, another a pedophile, and finally one who came after Kyle with a pistol in his hand (who could not legally own that weapon), who were chasing Kyle down after he tried to stop burning of businesses, something the cops wouldn’t do themselves.

This may be one of the most videographed CQB events in history.  Kyle won.  That makes them angry.  It makes Antifa/BLM angry, and it makes the Kenosha DA angry.

This is just a bunch of bourgeois, trust fund white kids being supported by their parents. Either that, or George Soros money.

Via reader JJ, this analysis of the engagement at Kenosha, WI, at AR-15.com, seems very detailed with a lot of pictures, analysis and background.

I continue to believe that despite becoming separated from his group, if he even had one to begin with (there is good discussion on this at the thread), Kyle handled himself and his carbine very adroitly.

The father said he was talking to her when he heard a gurgling noise, and was no longer able to communicate with her. Nine minutes later, his son-in-law, Stephanie’s husband, Curtis Blais, called him and told him of the attack. Curtis had tried bear spray, but it did not work, so he got a gun and shot and killed the bear. From cbc.ca:

After waiting two minutes, Esquirol disconnected and called back. No one answered. Seven minutes later, he got a call from his daughter’s husband, Curtis Blais, who had been in the cabin’s kitchen about 30 metres away.

“Curtis called advising me that a bear attacked her, that he sprayed the bear with pepper spray, and the bear got more angry.”

Esquirol said his son-in-law told him he got a gun and shot the bear twice before it went down.

“So by that time, Stephanie had no pulse. He gave her mouth to mouth, but she was injured beyond the point of recovery.”

The bear was not starving. Its stomach was full of blueberries. From foxnews.com:

He said a conservation officer told him the bear was unprovoked in the attack and that the bear wasn’t hungry. It had a stomach full of blueberries.

We do not know how much time was consumed by complying with the Canadian government laws on firearms and ammunition storage.

Free men don’t follow unrighteous laws when those laws put themselves or their loved ones at risk.

When in bear country, always have a large bore firearm within reach.  Or be at increased and unnecessary risk.  The choice is yours.

And no, bear spray isn’t a large bore firearm.

I wouldn’t expect too many details on the case to come from him, but these are worth noting.

When you start manufacturing facts to support false accusations, you get into trouble under the law of defamation. Kyle did not carry a gun across state lines. The gun belonged to his friend, a Wisconsin resident. The gun never left the State of Wisconsin.
