ATF Joins Rare Breed against Hoffman Tactical
BY Herschel SmithI didn’t even know that Rare Breed had taken Hoffman Tactical to court. It’s no surprise that the ATF joined them. Also, you know that should Hoffman lose, the ATF will want to know who purchased Hoffman Super Safeties.
It seems to me, based on limited knowledge of this issue (the differences between the operation are significant), the equivalent position to what Rare Breed would be if your machine uses blades to make something turn to convert wind to work, you infringe on the windmill patent regardless of how the machine does the conversion. I’m not a parent attorney but I am engineer, and I just don’t think patent law works like that.
