Unexpectedly, the USAF Finds Itself With a Critical Shortage of Pilots While It Says It Has Too Many White Officers

Red State:

The authors [at Breaking Defense dot com] go on to propose a solution. The USAF should create a major incentive program that would keep those majors and lieutenant colonels in the Air Force and available for flight duty if needed.

I think the authors aren’t looking at the real problem. If a lack of incentives were the problem, the officers they are trying to retain would never have made it to this point in their Air Force career. The problem is that mid-career aviators have been told that they aren’t wanted. By told, I don’t mean it has been hinted at; I mean they have seen it in writing from the three-star general who runs Air Force recruiting. This is from Major General Ed Thoma, USAF recruiting poohbah, in October 2020.

Red State citing Breaking Defense:

We simply can no longer afford for significant segments of our society to be underrepresented in our U.S. Air Force or our newest branch, the U.S. Space Force.

To be clear, the Air and Space Forces are not setting quotas based on race or gender. We will, however, focus intensely and concentrate our efforts in traditionally underserved communities. It wouldn’t be legal or productive to hold recruiters accountable for bringing in a certain number of recruits from various demographic groups. But if we see that we’re not hitting recruiting targets that mirror the qualified population in those categories, we will adjust to concentrate on areas where we can get a more representative balance in our applicant pool. To use a fishing analogy, recruiters must not only cast a wide net but ensure we are spending time in the right fishing holes.

And by measuring those targets, we’ll employ the old management axiom that what gets measured gets done. And we’ll get it done.

While we are meeting or exceeding nearly all demographic targets in our enlisted ranks, inside our cockpits is where we have the greatest disparities and opportunities for improvement. In all, 86 percent of our aviators are white males. Less than 3 percent of our fighter pilots are females. This is why we established a detachment within Air Force recruiting two years ago charged with improving diversity for those who wear flight suits. The mission of Detachment 1 is to bring a singular focus to recruiting qualified women and minorities who have not always felt they belonged.

So, the Air Force doesn’t have quotas, just demographic targets. Well, that’s different.

Red State again:

The USAF has responded to the challenge by eliminating prior flight training as a “plus” on pilot selection. They found that such training favored applicants who could afford private flight lessons. It has also announced that it intends to reduce the number of white officers from 80% to 67.5%.

The article gets even worse from there. Read it all.

Also: Twilio announces 11% of employees will lose jobs in ‘Anti-Racist’ layoffs

Twilio CEO Jeff Lawson announced in a message to all employees that 11% of its workforce would be laid off, stating that they made the layoffs through an “Anti-Racist” and “Anti-Oppression” lens.

The San Francisco-based corporate communications company CEO said in the message to employees that the layoffs are “wise and necessary.”

“I’m not going to sugarcoat things. A layoff is the last thing we want to do, but I believe it’s wise and necessary. Twilio has grown at an astonishing rate over the past couple years. It was too fast, and without enough focus on our most important company priorities. I take responsibility for those decisions, as well as the difficult decision to do this layoff,” Lawson said.

Lawson said that company officials examined which roles were most aligned with its four priorities, but said that the layoffs were carried out through an anti-racism lens.

“As you all know, we are committed to becoming an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression company,” Lawson wrote. “Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens.”

Who is ultimately responsible for pushing this woke nonsense onto entities like the armed forces? Yes, obviously their chain of command, but who is “really” pushing it?

In the private sector, we know that Black Rock head Larry Fink, a member of the World Economic Forum, has used the enormous leverage of his fund to arm-twist recalcitrant individuals and organizations into line with woke ideas and causes. Even heads of Fortune 500 firms have cowered before him, apparently.

Would someone please tell me when/where this hateful man was put in charge of our society? By what vote, by what agreement?

The usual anti-Semitic suspects will come out of the woodwork and shout “It’s the Jews!” while running in circles, but there are plenty of Jewish people who despise what Fink and his WEF buddies are doing. The real problem here is the man’s ideology, and the fact that supremacists like those at the WEF believe they have the right – even the duty – to “run the world.”

There are those who wish to paint with too-broad a brush and condemn all of a particular group for the crimes and sins of the few. They are wrong; individuals commit crimes and only secondarily, the groups to which they belong. Which just begs the question: Who are the individuals committing these destructive and damaging acts? Not just in the USAF, but in the armed forces as a whole?

Bear in mind also that the Chi-Coms are almost certainly involved in this at some level. The Bidens, pere and fils, are owned by them, and they aren’t the only ones. Nor does the GOP get off the hook, for there are plenty of Republicans who have sold their souls to Beijing.

I for one can’t shake the sense that this destruction is deliberate and as a result of intentional acts taken by the main actors. None of it is accidental or in any way occurring by chance. There is a grand design or scheme being carried out, almost military in its precision, time-tables, and apparent organization.

This is what fourth-generation warfare looks like, or 4GW. There may not be bombs dropping or guns going off – not yet at any rate – but this a war, folks, make no mistake about it. Some authorities say that WWIII has already begun.

Unless capitalism has utterly failed, it will remain true that talent will always find a home. Talented individuals who must be laid off in order to get some company to its proper anti-racist posture will be picked up by less well funded (and less woke) companies who will then put those talents to profitable use.

There is a time to MAKE things happen, and there is a time to LET things happen.

A couple of Chinese Colonels wrote a book about that a while ago. I think it was called ” Full Spectrum Warfare”, or something like that.

Re: “A couple of Chinese Colonels wrote a book about that a while ago. I think it was called ” Full Spectrum Warfare”, or something like that.”

Indeed it was… and it was published in the PRC in 1999. I own the English translation, in fact, because I was curious what it contained.

All of which continues to beg the question: Who within our own ranks has betrayed us, has gone over to the enemy? If you want to solve the problems of “woke-ism,” sooner or later that question is going to have to be answered. As a weapon, it may have originated in communist China, but it has been implemented across the West – including in the U.S. – by western fifth-columnists. Roll them up, roll up that network, and you’re a long way toward solving the problem.

To restate the basic point: After all the finger-pointing and “he said, she said” nonsense is done, it always boils down to an individual or a small group of individuals, who are on charge. Who “lit the fuse” on whatever is their latest attack. “Leaderless” movements may hide their leaders, but that does not mean they do not exist.

Let me suggest a specific tactic, too: The model of how the authorities rolled up the mob applies here, or can. The underlings, the foot soldiers who are a dime-a-dozen, can be flipped in returned for negotiated leniency or immunity from prosecution and perhaps a “clean skin” (new identity), to reveal the bigger fish. Repeat that technique as many times as needed to get to the really big fish, the kind you keep and don’t throw back.

Rolling up the entire network is preferable, but it isn’t always possible to be that clean or that lucky. Which is where the method above comes in.

This politically correct insanity will totally destroy our military capabilities. And it’s a deliberate act. The criminal commie left is OWNED by the CCP. And the CCP wants our military gutted so they can conquer the west without meaningful opposition. Virtually everything the American Communist Party nee Demonrats have been doing has been deliberately done to benefit China. The CCP started suborning and buying Demonrats decades ago when Slick Willie the Raois was in office. Now they own essentially all of them.

Re: “The CCP started suborning and buying Demonrats decades ago when Slick Willie… was in office. Now they own essentially all of them.”

Yes, that’s quite correct. Bubba Clinton, you will recall, was the man behind forcing the disclosure of global positioning technology to the private sector, hence then onto the PRC through their various cutouts and sources. GPS tech at that time was revolutionary and a huge force-multiplier for the U.S. against its would-be adversaries. The Clintons are the chief reason that secret got out, and that isn’t the only one. They gifted high-tech info on silent propulsion for our subs, too, though that may have been to the Russians and not China.

It is not directly germane to this topic, but the Clintons were also behind the subversion of the U.S. military by the Muslim Brotherhood. Bill Clinton more-or-less forced the services to allow imams – Islamic clerics – in the chaplain corps of the various services, when prior to that, none had existed.

I would close by saying that the degree to which this “woke” nonsense is supported, even in the mainstream of government and the national defense establishment, is indicative how just how far they – the Chi-Coms – have penetrated what were once some of our most-trusted institutions. It’s going to take a big broom to clean up this mess…. that is, if we survive to do so!
