Sour Grits

BY Herschel Smith

Even after constitutional carry is passed by Alabama, the would-be rulers are still bitter, wanting to make their own laws.

r/Firearms - Alabama Sherriff has gone full FUDD over Constitutional Carry being passed even though it won't come into effect until 2023

“I have heard all of this.”  Meh.  Couldn’t care less, so drop it.

What an arrogant prick.  He’s better at lawmaking, just because.  Shut up, he explained.  He wears a shiny badge.

His county should kick him to the curb.  He’s begging people to get permits because he believes in state permitting, and for leverage, he’s pointing out one more time that if you want reciprocity, you must get my permit.

So come begging to me.  Now.

    This is hilarious.

“States that have passed such laws have seen their crime rates increase.”
Complete lie and the Sheriff knows it.

“The law will make it difficult for police to protect citizens and themselves.”

How so? This is an irrelevant statement anyway because the concern of the police is not to protect the citizens. Have we not learned that in the last decade?

“The law will impact (law enforcement) in a negative way.”
So that really means one way to harass citizens is no longer available. I wonder if the good Sheriff knows how many innocent people have been wrongfully killed by LEOs while having a weapon and a legal permit for the weapon. The permit did not help them.

Not to mention the awful construction of the prose, with run-on sentences, sentence fragments, and missing tenses (group rather than group[s]).

But I’m sure this guy graduated H.S. somewhere.

Oh, and I’ll be happy to have that debate any time, any day, anywhere with him. He offered. I accept.

It appears that the good Sheriff has not yet learned how to construct an argument using multiple paragraphs. Back to 7th grade for him, to that place where the making of an outline used to be taught.

Tyrone needs to go back to grammar school. I am appalled by the number of errors in one simple letter. If you cannot speak and write effectively, you have no business being the county sheriff.

Otherwise, “We the People” are waking up and taking back our God given rights, guaranteed by the Constitution, from the usurpers. Remember friends, the Constitution does not grant us rights, it is a contract that limits government. Read it, study it, use it and their own rules against them.

Well surprise surprise! Tyrone Smith is also a Demonrat. Look him up on the Alabama Sheriff’s Association website.

It’s very enlightening to see how many sheriffs in Alabama are democrat, and in supposedly “conservative” counties.

Thank you Herschel for shining the spotlight on the corruption of Alabama sheriffs.

There truly is no safe haven anymore.

In 2013, Illinois passed a “right to carry” that’s really just a permitting scheme.

Here’s how Chicago crime has gone in 2020 vs 2019…

    2020 Totals (vs 2019)

    Shot & Killed: 723 (+56%)
    Shot & Wounded: 3451(+51%)
    Total Shot: 4174 (+52%)
    Total Homicides: 797 (+54%)

So permitting vs Constitutionally protected God-given right…which is better? I live in Arizona, the fuzz laughed at family that thought they needed to register weapons. “Son, this is the southwest. We don’t do that here.”

They must really like him down there: “Barbour County Sheriff Tyrone Smith will continue to be the first African American sheriff in the county as he will serve another four-year term. That’s because he drew no opposition in his re-election bid for the county’s chief law enforcement officer, which is a precedent within itself for the office in recent history.” https://www.claytonrecord.com/2022/02/10/featuring-sheriff-tyrone-smith-barbour-county-sheriffs-department/

There was a slight demographic shift – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbour_County,_Alabama – but he got elected in 2018 with 63% of the vote, so it’s not entirely a demographic thing. Of note – it was George Wallace’s home county – served 4 terms as Governor – and it went for Trump in 2020.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with training. You can’t train someone out of a faulty world and life view.

This also has nothing to do with shooting. It has to do with the desire to control others.

Barbour county is the poorest county, or close to it, in Alabama. He is probably gonna miss the revenue from permits. Alabama is a “shall issue” state, so anyone who pony’s up the cash gets a permit, as long as they don’t have a disqualification like a felony conviction.

His letter is,nonsensical. I guess he’s trotting out the ol’ “ I support the 2nd amendment, but…” statement and thinking that will convince people He’s right. Not. As an Alabamian, I’m glad this is going into effect next year.
