Of course, the controllers tip their hand with the word “mandatory,” which signals that there’s nothing volitional about this scheme whatsoever. You will “volunteer,” and “you’ll like it.” That sort of thing. The choice of words is highly-revealing of their mindset, however. I know my Daughter is getting out of the Air Guard this year after 10 years of Regular Air Force and 7 of Guard.

She has been over seas in Qatar and I do not think she wants to go to where they would send her next, if she stayed in.
