S&W: More Mischief in N.J. Courts
BY Herschel Smith3 months, 2 weeks ago
New Jersey officials can pry into gunmaker Smith & Wesson’s internal company documents as part of a long-stalled state fraud probe, a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday.
The three-judge panel rejected a challenge from the gunmaker in a 2-1 ruling, with the dissenting judge questioning New Jersey’s “novel” efforts to take on the gun industry in court.
It’s over how S&W markets firearms.
Hey, I want to know how household cleaning product manufacturers market their cleaners? After all, they kill more children than anything else.
I hope we don’t see another good gun builder go down the toilet because no one will force states to follow the law.

Suing the gunmakers for “marketing” is transparent bullshit intended to evade the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.
Since marketing is part of commerce, every one of these cases should be summarily dismissed. But the courts are completely corrupt, political institutions (cf. Trump, Donald J.)
Besides, big gun manufacturers make a lot (if not most) of their money selling to government law enforcement agencies. If they should be held liable for any marketing at all, it is marketing the fantasy to cops they they are hardcore operators blowing away “bad guys” just like soldiers in Fallujah and every officer needs an M-4 with a dozen 30-rd mags for every traffic stop.

If you only knew how welcomed and appreciated that company is at their new hq in east tn, you wouldn’t worry. They will be manufacturing guns here for a long time.
