This time by an ignorant boob, Gretchen Carlson (hey, wasn’t she basically the founder of the “me too” movement?). Anyway, aren’t they always ignorant?

I bought a Colt AR-15 in 1972 shortly after returning from Vietnam. It cost $175 new.
I bought my Eagle Arms AR-15 for 3 gun matches in 1986. Had a 3 digit SN if I remember correctly.

Carlson was on Fox News’s morning show Fox & Friends, from 2005 to 2013, and The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson on Fox News from 2013 to 2016.At least until she sued Roger Ailes for sexual harassment. Then she got her payment and retired to Connecticut, where she can dictate to the rest of us what is acceptable behavior.
Armalite sold some on the civilian market in the early 1960s, before the first military units began adopting small numbers of them. The USAF was first, if I remember right.
So, it was a civilian rifle before it was a military one.
