Romans Chapter 1

This video provides an excellent exposition of Romans 1, which starts at about the twenty-four-minute mark. Where I agree wholesale is that all of civilization hangs in the balance. Dr. Baldwin excels in doing expository teaching as here. The beginning of the video is also good; he starts in Genesis 1, briefly setting God’s revealed purpose for His pinnacle creation. Dr. Baldwin’s continual use of the term Natural Law is somewhat distracting, but he explains it well in the context of the verses.
However, there is nothing to so-called natural law that is not written in revealed law. We’ve covered this section and verse 20 similarly; in our nature, made in God’s image, we can see His creation in us and all around us and therefore have a sense of what nature demands as right and wrong for men and women.
Romans 2:14-15 shows again what Dr. Baldwin calls natural as being revealed law written in God’s holy law. Natural Law is not unique or additional revelatory knowledge of God apart from His Law-word. And Dr. Baldwin also states that he doesn’t think the State should be in people’s bedrooms, but don’t tell him Jefferson’s Virginia criminally (not civil law) forbade such acts in the Commonwealth. This remained true as recently as my lifetime when I lived there.
This video is not available on Youtube because it violates the blasphemy laws of the New Religion. But it’s available on Libertyfellowshipmt dot com and Bitchute if this won’t run for you.

Mr. Baldwin is not the best source for theological information anymore. A while back he did a 9 g bat turn against the Jews. While this video may be excellent (I haven’t watched it), Mr. Baldwin is a replacement theology teacher, and seems to have a great problem with the existence of the state of Israel and Jews in general.
Here is a quote from an article he wrote:
“Thanks mostly to the influence of the Zionist-concocted Scofield Reference Bible, Christian Zionism is predicated upon the false presupposition that God is not finished with the Old Testament nation of Israel ”

Hope this helps.

@Dov,
I don’t claim to know if dispensationalism is a Zionist-concocted scheme.
What I do know is that Scofield’s theology came from Darby out of England, and without knowing whether he was s Zionist, I do know from history that he wanted to be the guy who came up with something unique and special, something unknown to the entirety of Christian history.
Fact. Dispensationalism was unknown until the time of Darby. The Christian church had never preached or believed something like it until then. It spread to America to the revival tent meetings, and then to Dallas Theological Seminary, the only place it is taught.
As if God left His church in darkness for 2000 years with bad theology.
I agree that Israel is nothing special. They are saved if they accept Jesus as the only way. They are lost if they don’t.
There aren’t two ways of salvation – only one.
God’s elect is whomever believes in His Son. There is no other elect.

I should clarify that Dr. Baldwin does not claim that Natural Law is a new or extra-biblical revelation. I simply wanted to be very clear for those who may be less knowledgeable though growing in their studies. Natural Law is term most commonly used among Englishmen around the time of America’s revolt against the crown. Those who use it today adhere to the Locke and Jefferson political philosophy of Christian influenced enlightenment, although many doubt Locke’s faith.

Hershel,
I agree that there is only one way, Jesus. No question. Yet God made promises to the ethnic line of Israel yet to be fulfilled, and Satan has always tried to thwart that. It is a dangerous road that Mr. Bladwin goes down. What does the scripture say, “to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” We should be bringing ethnic Jews to Jesus and the gospel, and that starts with our conduct as they do watch what we do and say.

To the Jew first and then to the Greek. That’s a historical statement. It already happened. There is nothing else to be fulfilled except the “general resurrection and general judgment” (as stated in the Westminster Confession of Faith). There is nothing special about an ethnic people of any kind, nor a nation-state of any sort. God blesses those who bless Him, and the corollary is that those who don’t are not blessed.
I don’t think you get the gist of what I’m saying yet. The promises are to His elect – those He has chosen for Himself (Eph 1:11). Those who believe in Jesus are His elect. His church. His bride.
Jews can be in that number, but they come by way of Jesus, the only way, the same way gentiles come.
