A Cougar Comes Into Camp!

Questions: (1) Why did her husband let her go solo backpacking? (2) Why didn’t she carry a large bore handgun? (3) Why did she decide that hiking ten miles in the dark was safer than staying?

I have experience with cats and I can tell you that yelling “bad cat” at them doesn’t work at all to accomplish anything whatsoever that you intend for the cat to do or not to do.
Crawling into the tent allowing for zero visibility of attack vectors while waiting for “officials” to tell you what to do is probably the dumbest thing to do. Yelling bad cat is actually better than that! This vid is funny.

Always amazed when seeing these videos of unarmed people resorting to yelling at predators.
Saw a lady yesterday open carrying her PMR 30. (Open carry is typically not a pantie-wetting issue around here – If someone calls the Sheriff they pretty much get laughed at). She likes that it’s light weight she can hit what she aims at, low recoil and with an extra mag she has 60 rounds.
Even a 22 mag would be effective on a cougar. They’re thin skinned, and not hard to kill. My wife won’t even go horseback riding without either a .357 or .44 special. She also won’t even go to Walmart or to church without her gun for that matter.

Yep, cats are lone hunters, and as such they are very averse to damage.
