Horrifying Booby Traps In The Vietnam War

Note the statement by Kissinger, who for all of his elitist, globalist faults, was correct in this: “A conventional army loses if it does not win. The guerrilla wins if he does not lose.”

I was in the Combat Engineers as Vietnam wound down and few troops remained.
I was not assigned there but I still remember the training we were given due to our
MOS. Mines and booby traps were intensley covered as our military knew very well
that 80% of our casualties in that War were from those anti-personnel and vehicle
weapons. I remember seeing samples of home made claymore mines larger than
the size and twice the thickness of trash can lids built with aiming frames.
Any piece of discarded American equipment could be used in one form or another
to devise these devices and I’m sure that hasn’t changed since.

The booby trap path at Ft. Benning was quite enlightening. Most of them displayed had been seen in Vietnam, where most of our instructors and drill sergeants had served. Then they showed us how to build some of them.
