Sean Hannity Is No Defender Of The Second Amendment
BY Herschel Smith3 years, 11 months ago
“I’m the number one supporter [on] radio and television, that I know of, [of the] First Amendment and the Second Amendment. Now, no one is a bigger defendant of the Second Amendment than yours truly,” Hannity said Monday night on his televison program.
“Everyone has the right to protest, protect themselves and try to get the country open,” the host said as video rolled of Thursday’s protest in Lansing. “This, with the militia look here, and these long guns, uh… no. Show of force is dangerous. That puts our police at risk. And by the way, your message will never be heard, whoever you people are.”
“No one should be attempting to intimidate officials with a show of force, and God forbid, something happens,” the host continued. “Then they’re going to go after all of us law-abiding Second Amendment people.”
Thus, he would have been against the intimidation of British troops in the war of independence.
Hannity speaks like one who is a GOP diehard, a run-of-the-mill “law and order” republican, not a patriot.

I typically watch Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham whose programs bracket Hannity. I won’t waste my time watching that moron. Bill O’Reilly is another idiot who has no idea what it means to honor the Constitution.

Hannity talks the game that suits his producers on the TV show. He talks a decent 2A game as it suits him, but when the guns come up to Statehouse steps, then that’s too far for him. Which makes me believe that he would rather conform his TV appearances to be on just the edgy side against the Bad People, rather than him stand up on his hind legs and actually confront them. Being edgy gets viewers. Standing up on hind legs gets him fired, if he actually did actually want to stand up in the first place.
It’s amusing how he has Bill O’Reilly on, and they talk intently about how to open sportsball again for the masses. They’re OK with wearing masks and sipping beer at the ballpark through a straw, and doing their patriotic best to take bites from their hotdogs without spreading the disease. I’d posit that the above horseshit that they are peddling is a disease in itself, masked (heh) by their true desire to bring back sportsball to the masses. Also their greater career desires come into play as they talk the sportsball line of how to bow at the ballpark as er’body is in this together.
Just as an aside to those who listen to Hannity: Do any folks educated fifty years ago on how to diagram a sentence, think that they could diagram a Hannity ramble? Wondering for a friend.

Hannity is just a pompous blowhard taking up air time. He completely missed or avoided the message sent by those patriots.

What’s amusing is that they were the worst terrorists ever: the police allowed only 100 into the state house, they all had to be wearing face coverings, and none could have a fever.

I really HATE Sean Hannity. The guy is a controlled-opposition neocon Fudd and a Zionist shill with an obnoxious Long Island accent. I am sick of his Boy Scout-style “conservative” flag-waving jingoism.
No, Sean, the cops are NOT “heroes.” No, Sean, we do NOT live in a “free country.” No, Sean, Israel is NOT “our greatest ally.” No, Sean… you’re NOT a “great American,” you’re a bootlicker for the power elite and if this was 1776 you’d be a Loyalist…

How many times do I have to explain this. EVERYTHING that appears on your TV screen is APPROVED by government officials BEFORE it appears there. Hannity, and EVERYBODY else on your TV screen are spokesmen for the government. Man, this gets exasperating, YES, including your favorite pet that you think is different.
Why do people still watch it? A TV has no place in a Christian home. Nothing on it is fit for the King’s people.
And of course armed protest is correct, good, right, and proper. It is the express purpose of the 2A that officials be intimidated and to go as far that they have their tyranny overthrown by force at arms should that need arise. That is why the 2A exists.

Inane, but that’s Hannity.
I was at the Madison (WI) demonstration; about half-dozen people showed up with long guns. There was no “danger” to LEO’s (who were all in cars at least 200′ from the people, or on roofs with sniper scopes).
He’s also creating a false dichotomy, claiming to be “law-abiding” while implying that the long-arms people are NOT “law abiding.” Sure, Sean.
Personally, I don’t think it’s helpful to bring long-arms. Having several hundred or several thousand people who are mad as Hell is a pretty serious statement all by itself. But Hannity’s blather is stupid.

*Someone* doesn’t understand the reason for the Second Amendment, does he? Imagine my surprise. Faux News is conservative only by comparison. Mel Bradford would weep.

Hannity is a news and opinion show aimed at the octogenarian and nine-o-genarian crowd that has no other source of news other than their local pretty face newscasters. Without that older subset of viewers his ratings wouldn’t be what they are.
I know this because my dearly departed 90+ year old stepmother loved him. She was a wonderful old gal who probably considered herself very well informed but when I asked her who her representative in congress was she couldn’t tell me.
The only reason I ever watch him is to see if his interviews with guests are still 65% Sean asking questions and 35% guests answering.

I can appreciate that observation!
When I used to watch him, I thought he very rarely ever asked a question…he seemed to always launch into a mini-monologue…stop talking (eventually) … and then wait for the guest to pick-up with a “Yes, Sean, that’s right…”

“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
Once attributed to Jefferson, now no proof he sad it. Doesn’t matter it still needs to be said.
“Show of force is dangerous. That puts our police at risk.”I watched him say it, and I say darn right it does. When have the police ever failed to demonstrate an overwhelming show of force?
I would welcome a scene where 10,000 minutemen arrived totin “long guns”.
Recall the late Mike V. and his “Mandate of Heaven” consent of the governed.

Y’all nailed it above. Hannity is a caricature of the right-wing, conservative Republican, statist, military/cop/hero-worshipping, flag-waving, ’Merica/Freedom/Stars & Stripes-bleating, Fox News-watching, Trump-can-do-no-wrong segment of society, and I cannot stand it. “Controlled opposition” is right, X. The funny thing is that I used to be like that too.
I’m always leery of anyone who states something to the effect of, “No one is a bigger second amendment supporter than me…” because they usually follow it up with a big “, but…”. NO “BUTS”! You either support it with no infringements or not at all. It reminds me of those political ads showing a “pro-gun” politician standing in a field with a shiny Italian over/under shotgun slung over his fancy shooting vest trying to show you what a gun guy he is. He’s a Fudd, that’s what he is. You know what would impress me more? If he had a battle rifle and chest rig stuffed with 30-round magazines on instead of his sporting clays gun club attire. During last fall’s election season, I saw one such ad with the over/under shotgun. Printed next to the candidate’s photo were the phrases “Pro Gun, Pro-Trump, Pro Business”. First, the guy has to ride Donald Trump’s coattails and use his name recognition with the electorate? Doesn’t he have any merit of his own? Second, it struck me as odd that he was both pro gun and pro Trump, despite the bump-stock ban and red flag laws enacted under the current administration. Donald Trump is not pro-gun.

Sean likes to point out that he knows “many” FBI agents and they are all “great Americans”. He is a talk show guy. I wonder how it is that he personally knows so many FBI agents. I wonder if it ever crosses his mind that some of those agents might be making it a point to know him. To further their PR efforts.

Why would you expect anything different? Hannity is not an American. He is nothing but the grandchild of immigrants. He has no historical ties to this land or it’s people. All immigration has been bad for America and Americans. We should have slammed the border shut in 1790 with the first census.
Assimilation does not work. That is why we have people here calling themselves Irish-Americans, German-Americans, and Chinese-Americans. None of them are Americans.

This comes as a surprise? Sean Hannity has NEVER been a 2nd Amendment supporter. Ever. It’s akin to saying that Rush Limbaugh is a 2nd Amendment supporter.
They’re both loud-mouthed blowhards. Guys like this would snitch on their own mothers if it benefitted their careers.

I don’t think I have ever watched Hannity for more than a few minutes at a time. The whole hero-worship thing got old very quickly. I remember watching O’Reilly regularly until I saw him try to bully Stewart Rhodes (Oathkeepers) about why it was right for the stormtroopers to confiscate firearms from citizens in New Orleans after Katrina, because SAFETY. Rhodes wasn’t having a bit of it, and I turned it off in disgust. I was old enough to know better at the time, but it was an eye opener for me that FauxNews was really no different from the rest.
