The Simple World Of Emma Gonzalez
BY Herschel Smith5 years, 10 months ago
Commenting on the bill introduced by Bill Nelson and Patrick Leahy, Emma Gonzalez says this.
This bill is Super (sic) important, with it we will Actually (sic) be able to find the original owner of weapons like we see in Criminal Minds.
“Criminal Minds.” A TV show, so I’m told. I don’t watch TV. This is the level of thought for this generation. Life is a TV show.
Related: Twitter is so appropriately tailored for this one sentence generation. I am left wondering how she would do sitting in a hard back chair with a cup of coffee trying to read Francis Turretin’s “Institutes of Elenctic Theology“?

Oh, well, don’t worry. When it turns out that the bill doesn’t Actually accomplish Anything they said it would, they’ll repeal it just like they did all the other… wait… what?

In reality it fits the pattern. This bill did not work, therefore, we “NEED MOAR” gun control. Little steps.

Listen to us 18 year olds – we’re serious when we tell you we’re adults and we’re too immature to have access to a firearm

Elenctic *opens web browser, does search* ah. Not a word I’d use every day. Sorry, not my cup of tea, but probably will cure any insomnia I might have. I imagine that it would cause Shaved Guerra to run around like her hair was on fire.
If she hadn’t have shaved it.

And finding the original owner will do what exactly? That gun could have gone through several private sales over many years. If I get a visit for a gun I bought from an FFL in 1980, what responsibility do I have to help the cops figure out where it went next? None.

@Frank,
More likely they’ll clamor to get the other half of the equation passed into law. Universal background checks. One doesn’t do any good without the other.
