That bear fight looks a lot like a lot of human fight: lots of jawing back and forth, some pushing and shoving, and bit of wrassling, and someone backs down. If you’re dead, you can’t reproduce.

Glad the snake got what it deserved.
Thought the little bear was going to win for a bit, but backed down at the end.
Hate to be on the ground near either event though.

Wow Herschel! My home! Lived in Kodiak 30+ years.! Commercial fished around Chirikof Island for decades. Knew about the wild cattle. Did you know that there is also wild herds of bison on Kodiak Island. And there’s wild herds of reindeer.
Reindeer, Buffalo, Cattle, Bears and Salmon. What more could a man want? And rain, lots and lots of rain. The rain is a downer.

Other ‘introduced’ fauna on Kodak: blacktail deer, elk, snowshoe hare, and fox. They tried moose, but they didn’t take. No Alaska moose on Kodiak

If you're interested in what else the The Captain's Journal has to say, you might try thumbing through the archives and visiting the main index, or; perhaps you would like to learn more about TCJ.
