New York Court Holds Stun Gun Ban is Not Unconstitutional, in Contravention of Caetano

Herschel Smith · 30 Mar 2025 · 2 Comments

Dean Weingarten has a good find at Ammoland. Judge Eduardo Ramos, the U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York,  has issued an Opinion & Order that a ban on stun guns is constitutional. A New York State law prohibits the private possession of stun guns and tasers; a New York City law prohibits the possession and selling of stun guns. Judge Ramos has ruled these laws do not infringe on rights protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. Let's briefly…… [read more]

Supreme Court Vacates Decision Upholding Maryland “Assault Weapon” Ban

At The Gun Feed:

WASHINGTON, DC (June 30, 2022) – Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced today that the United States Supreme Court has granted, vacated, and remanded its Bianchi v. Frosh lawsuit, which challenges Maryland’s ban on so-called “assault weapons.” The case will now return to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals “for further consideration in light of New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen.

[…]

“This is an important moment,” said FPC Policy Counsel Matthew Larosiere. “We have suffered at the hands of government actors who felt empowered by a lack of clear standards from the Supreme Court. All too often, horrible restrictions which threaten jail time for simply owning a common type of arm–one the people have an undeniable right to–were allowed to stand. This case presents one of the first opportunities to give force to our right to these common firearms, and we intend to see it through.”

The case was sent back to the lower court in light of Bruen. This is good reporting; TGF has included links to case documents and other links perhaps of interest to the case.

After congress let Reagan’s ASW ban expire during Bush Jr’s administration, I bought an “Assualt Weapon” in Maryland. There was a three-day waiting list. And get this: The county police showed up during that three days to inspect the weapon. I was young and very ignorant, but that was the local ‘law’ back then. This databasing of weapons has been ongoing for decades. Fill out 4473s if you want to, but keep in mind that: “wise a serpent, harmless as a dove” (Matthew 10:16) would indicate prudence in these matters. For the record, I no longer reside in MD nor have the weapon.

Where we stand depends upon who has the guns

This essay is excellent. It lays out the current state of the Fundamental Transformation of America. If you don’t read and understand this information, you might as well turn in your firearms and report to the tribunal.

The writing in places is taught; you will have to slow down to see the totality of the points. The part about guns is elementary for the readers at TCJ, so don’t stop reading with those few paragraphs.

We don’t want war, you don’t want war, and even the Left doesn’t want war; they want you not to fight back. America is in the midst of a genuine full-blown Communist Revolution. The busyness and information overload are features keeping you distracted.

We do disagree about how solid the local police are. The Left wants total police power, of course. They are well on their way to getting it.

The Best Straight-Wall Deer Rifles

Some ARs, some bolt action rifles.  Mostly .350 Legend and 45-70.  The Franchi Momentum in .360 Legend is a nice looking rifle in Optifade Cerakote finish.

The new Marlin 45-70 is still unobtanium unless you’re willing to spend $1800.  Lever actions guns are priced very high right now.

Cops Killing Animals

BY Herschel Smith
3 years, 6 months ago

Via David Codrea, an awful report of animal cruelty.

Oxford, PA — In the study of psychology, there is a term for those who hurt animals for personal pleasure. It is called intentional animal torture and cruelty IATC, and the folks who carry it out are often the most depraved people in society. Psychologists have long studied the reasons behind why a person would intentionally harm an animal and the types of people associated with this behavior are often society’s worst. Shockingly enough, as frequent readers of the Free Thought Project understand, police officers are often the most common offenders when it comes to being deliberately cruel to animals.

While it is common knowledge that police officers kill dogs on a regularly basis, many folks don’t realize that cops also kill lots of  animals in sadistic ways as well. Case in point: a Pennsylvania state trooper is facing animal cruelty charges after he deliberately and repeatedly rammed his patrol car into a horse, causing it immense suffering and eventually death.

Over the weekend, Cpl. Michael Perillo was arrested and charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of aggravated animal cruelty, including torture and causing significant bodily injury to the horse.

The incident happened late last year but the investigation apparently took over 6 months to complete. According to officials, on December 28, 2021, police received a report of a horse in the area of U.S. Route 1 in Lower Oxford Township. The horse had reportedly gotten free from a nearby Amish farm.

When the trooper arrived, the horse was on the shoulder and though it had reportedly been hit by another car, it was still standing and not a danger to anyone. Instead of getting out and trying to lead the horse to safety, the trooper rammed it. As the Philly Voice reports:

A criminal complaint filed by the state police’s internal affairs division alleges that Perillo drove his patrol car into the horse multiple times, pinning the animal to the pavement. The second trooper then euthanized the horse, authorities said.

Troopers are permitted to use a firearm to kill a dangerous animal in self-defense, to defend another person or to end the suffering of an injured or sick animal if other means of doing so are not available. Troopers are required to document all actions taken in appropriate reports.

Making sure that no one would ever see the dashboard camera, the charges against Perillo were only announced after the legal window closed on the request for the dash cam footage. According to the AP, state law provides 60 days to submit a request for a copy of an officer’s audio or video recording. Requests must be made in writing by certified mail or hand-delivered, and rejections can be appealed to court.

“What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?”

God saw everything that happened.

Israel’s War On Cash Is About To Get More Drastic

BY PGF
3 years, 6 months ago

This is excellent reporting. The State of Israel is becoming the test bed for the total control grid of not just currency. (Bold in the original.)

Starting Monday, it will be a criminal offense in Israel to pay more than the equivalent of $1,700 in cash to a business or $4,360 in cash to individual, as the government intensifies its ongoing war on tangible money.

It’s a war that began in earnest with the 2018 passage of the Law for the Reduction in the Use of Cash. Israeli businesses and individuals began facing limits on cash transactions in January 2019. However, on Aug 1, those limits are being slashed nearly in half.

[…]

Next, Israel’s finance ministry plans to deliver a proposal to parliament to criminalize the mere possession of cash exceeding a certain sum. One version of the proposal set the possession cap at the shekel equivalent of just $14,700.

Limits like Israel’s are just one way to work toward “de-cashing” a population. A 2017 International Monetary Fund paper outlined other tactics, including abolishing large-denomination bills, imposing reporting requirements on cash transactions over a certain threshold, requiring the declaration of cash when entering or leaving a country, or applying an additional tax when cash is used. Various countries and economic blocs have already started implementing measures from this menu.

Here’s s a snapshot of other aspects of the grid that’s being erected:
