Rifle Police Shoot Man In The Back As He Jogs Away

A man killed last month by Rifle police stood on the edge of a bridge with a gun pointed toward his chest, threatened to jump and then jogged away from officers before he was shot in the back, newly released video footage of the shooting shows.
David Lane, a Denver civil rights lawyer who represents the family of Allan George, released video recorded by a passerby who stopped to watch police engage with the 57-year-old. Lane called the shooting “cold-blooded murder” and accused investigators of trying to cover for the cops who fired shots.
Police had pulled George over because he was wanted on a warrant for possession of child pornography …
So if he’s guilty of that he’s surely a Putz, but shooting a man in the back as he attempts to flee was handled by Tennessee v. Garner. The Supreme Court spoke … or so I thought.

For example, somebody who appears unarmed is in a restricted area and runs away – let him go. If somebody is running out of the armory with an M-60 – he gets shot.

You have a lot more faith in THE SYSTEM than I do. That Horiuchi/Brailsford clone will walk, just like they did. He will do time on a desk, just like any Sturmmann after blowing a way an unarmed Peon. Then he gets his rifle back and turned loose on The Peons again. They may even reiterate what a hero he is/was for saving us from that unarmed man who was running away.
2) Any time you are dealing with the police you are in mortal peril.

Theft of a weapon in the Military is a different story.
Nothing here indicates he broke into an armory and stole a weapon.
Law Imposement may use deadly force to preserve from harm innocents or themselves, just as YOU may. The suicidal man appeared to pose no threat to anyone at the time he was killed. He wasn’t brandishing. He wasn’t threatening. His back was turned. He was running away from danger (a man in a Super Hero Costume was aiming a rifle at him).
A man was killed for “Failure to Grovel”.

If there was even a slim chance this jack boot thug was going to prison for murder….we know he won’t.

It will be declared justified because: 1. He was an armed man fleeing the service of a felony warrant. The logic being that a suspect like this one could have later put others in danger if officers had to continue pursuing him. 2. Depending on the state law in Colorado he could be considered a fleeing felon. In many states it is legal for police to shoot a fleeing felon.
Please do not conclude that I agree with this action. I Think shooting the guy in the back showed very poor judgement. The guy was not showing any aggression towards anyone and it was obvious that he was tired. The cops could have followed him a bit and forced him toward the hill and it would have probably been over shortly with no one hurt.
