The Coming National Red Flag Gun Control Law

BY Herschel Smith
5 years, 1 month ago

CNBC:

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told CNN on Wednesday the Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on gun control on March 26.

The influential committee chairman said the panel will discuss “red flag” laws, passed in many U.S. states, that allow courts to take away firearms from suspected dangerous individuals after receiving warnings from police officers or family members.

Red flag laws, also known as extreme risk protection, enjoy bipartisan support and have been praised by the White House and the National Rifle Association.

Graham, who has become a close ally of the president, said he and Trump had discussed the matter. He noted that there was “a lot of common ground” on aspects of the proposal.

[ … ]

A month later, Graham and Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., introduced red flag legislation that ultimately never went anywhere.

So you see several important things here.  Lindsey V.2 isn’t so much really Version 2, but Lindsey V.1 with some makeup.  He talks big, but then when push comes to shove, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig.  Graham supports red flag laws.

Second, Graham has spoken to Trump, and apparently Trump is favorable, which we essentially already knew from his “take the guns first” comment.

Third, a republican senate is convening hearings on new gun control legislation.  I repeat, a republican senate.  And in two short years, in Trump’s closing arguments for your vote for presidency, he’ll say that he stands in the way of the bad people taking your guns and will never let your second amendment rights be infringed.

I wonder if during those hearings somebody will notice that not only is this a clear and direct violation of the 2nd Amendment and outside of the constitutional authority of the Congress – it also violates the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.

I’m sure the courts will notice, not that it will forgive this betrayal.

“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.”

Abram might easily have gone back to Ur. There is a lot of discussion as to what type of country America will be or what form of government will the soon to become former America have. These discussions can be fairly wide ranging to include Communist, Reactionary, balkanized multi region, ethnic sectors, Red and Blue, and City States among many others. And such discussions are largely a waste of time, if we read our Holy Bible correctly. The fact is that we just don’t know what fashion of governance America will have or who will possess what regions.

But, as always, the Holy Bible provides instruction as to what we are supposed to do. Planning is a good thing but there are just too many votes involved to know for sure, and ultimately, God has the final say. We can’t go back. The constitution is dead and buried and as men of faith, should we want to go back? I don’t think so. The only real right that any of us has (had) is the right to a place in Hell, for all men are appointed once to die and after this, Judgement.

As believers it’s important to admit and to express that we are merely pilgrims here. We shouldn’t, as the American Church would have us to, throw up our arms and claim victory by making unactionable statements about how it’s all in God’s hands. It is in God’s hands, but we have responsibilities here.

“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

Whatever your plan is and we followers of Christ are certainly dwelling in a strange land, whatever country you seek, you need to get going now. If Holy God has called you and prepared you then don’t wait. Go, not knowing where it will end or how the outcome will be secured or even when or where. Abram went and sojourned in an unknown land. He risked everything to do as our LORD instructed. He left friends, familiarity, comfort and ease, he had a good life. Abram was a great warrior who had no way of knowing if it meant war or milk and honey, nonetheless he had faith in God and hope for the future of his people so he did that which was right in the sight of our precious Redeemer because he knew, after the first death to which he also was appointed, there would be no second death. We’re on our way to live with Father God in glory and honor, why fret about the final outcome. Our job is to do that to which we are called, and if we die next week or restore liberty to us and our posterity it doesn’t matter; only God is the prize of our obedience.

America’s founders didn’t wait for a final plan; they made action of the long train of abuses. The shot is coming, maybe it’s already been fired but we need to be at war now, in our minds, in our hearts, in our actions while a clear signal, that might well be rather muddy at first, comes to reveal itself.

“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;”

We were only ever strangers and pilgrims here. There is no reason at all to cling to the land of Ur and any of its trappings, as it’s all going to burn by fire anyway and is already a foreign land, for we live by faith in the promises of our LORD and the things to come of which we are joint heirs. It’s the same every day. He either protects you or calls you home so how does it cause us to hesitate in that which is clearly spoken of in His word and in our calling to work our faith through obedience in His love toward us. Abram, in a shadow of the things to come, offered up his only son to Holy God in human sacrifice knowing that, somehow, someway, by miracle of the resurrection they both would come down off that mountain at evening. His son didn’t struggle or object but carried the wood of the fire that was to burn himself alive in a holy sacrifice to the Holy Creator God.

“But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,”

Do you want your country back, really want it back? In God, if he’ll give it, is the only way at all and it’s the only way that we ever could. The reason that the Great Depression lasted so long was because the government raised the tax rate to ninety percent and declared everything to be now under the preview of the central government. Back then, the result in the midst was not a lack of money but a lack of things to buy. This is why government went after agriculture so hard, to begin the destruction of self-sufficiency. Armies win or lose on logistics, especially food. Sure FDR was a tyrant but fear gripped Washington and the halls of power. Overthrow could have come at any time and they knew it. Now this was before hordes of aimless welfare recipients but like any good government, they simply rolled up the problem into a larger one to kick down the road. Same with ’08. Wars tend to be for economic reasons, enter a new problem, proximity of festering ethnic and social groups eyeing each other, this didn’t help. What Washington feared most was action for their willful negligence. This is what gun control is about. They fear you. After WWI in the height of the Depression they passed the ’34 gun control. With Vietnam turning ugly and protesters starting to make a voice heard in Washington, among which were grumblings from trained returning armies, came the ’86 gun control. The general government isn’t starting weapons seizures but for any reason other than that they fear you. This is what all the talk of mental health is about, it’s mostly directed at veterans, again returning from war, and Feinstein just admitted as much stating that all veterans are mentally ill and should not have guns. This is the truth of the mask slipping that they all fear from Wall Street to Washington.

Truly, if you want your country back, just take it, and I’m not even talking about force! If you come in the name of the living God, evil will slink back into its hole. The root of the problem in America isn’t Leftists, a lack of morals, or a culture in decay, these are symptoms. The list of symptoms is seemingly endless. The cause is that Christians won’t fight for Christ. If you want your country back you need to study the Holy Bible hard, be conversant in its greater and lesser meanings, be able to quote Christ and extensively discuss the concepts of right and wrong, Holy Justice, and sin both personal and National, and how sin affects us all under covenant one with another in a fallen world. You need to be able to do this, you must do it with everyone.

People say to write and call your government representatives and to meet with them and challenge them. I’ve been doing this for years. In fact I’m the only person I know of perhaps a thousand church acquaintances over the years that does this, pathetic. This is one reason I’m not at all a fan Red Flag laws, they know my name and my face. I haven’t been hiding in obscurity voting as though that would make some difference. When you look a sinner in the eye and quote Scripture while discussing the topics of important in our day, interspersing references to instances and accounts of the bible overtly or less obviously the devil has to flee. Hey, this is a promise of Holy God. We are to resist the devil, how, by the word of God and he must flee. The word of God is a two edged sword that cuts coming and going and strikes fear into our enemies, O LORD why won’t your people believe this anymore? The devil and his workers can’t make us do anything. Just as Jesus was tempted of the devil, all politicians lie. But not just politicians, all of America is turned toward sin. We have to pray, and confront this evil head on with the word of God. This is what the founding generation did. Read their writings. They knew God, his word, and used it like the sword it was designed to be by our Holy Father. The entire Holy Bible is a story of God’s people believing Him, using his word, and trusting that the coming battle was already won if only they would do as they were told by Christ. Do you want your country back? You must look the workers of evil right in the eye and quote scripture, explain precepts of Gospel truth, Natural Law, and the foundations of our Western Civilization born of the Holy Bible by the blood of our resurrected LORD, using the application of His word to the evils our day, by faith.

This is how. I’m not the one saying these are the means to own a future at peace in a society at ease away from the consequences of personal and National sin, God does, I’m merely telling you what His word says. Do you believe it or not? Are you all in or not? Will you die having never seen the promise, even the promises of this life?

“And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:”

Twelve men were sent by God to spy out the land. God didn’t ask them to assess whether they alone could defeat the inhabitants of these lands including those of the Giants. Ten of the men gave a report of fear with trepidation and these ten balked at the daunting task before them of claiming a land given by Holy God for them. They feared the men of the land, the fenced and well defended cities. Indeed all the odds were against them but God doesn’t gamble and he didn’t ask their opinion, just a sober observation as to making war and the bounty it would yield. By faith, two men, Joshua and Caleb, gave a good report asserting that they should go at once and claim their national heritage, a birthright, given by our LORD. But the ten cowards prevailed and as you know the events, they were subjected to wander for 40 years. Later we learn that, after these forty years of trials and of wandering in which every man of that generation died save the two, that the inhabitants of the country spied out did faint at the coming armies ordained of a Holy Righteous God. Can you image doing nothing only to find out that your enemies, some of which were the largest and most fearsome men to ever walk the earth, would melt away in battle at the coming of the armies of the living God?

I have already previously emailed the NRA-ILA regarding this issue. I received back a pathetic position piece URL link on how the NRA will support a pre-crime law if it contains items x,y,z. Unbelievable that this is the NRA of today.

Until the NRA publicly denounces and refuses to support any and all ERPOS / Red Flag laws which completely violate the constitution, due process and everything the NRA is supposed to stand for, then you will never get another penny from myself nor any of my family or close friends.

I completely sick of the NRA leadership and all your lame 2nd amendment compromises. You’re all liars and unethical hacks.

How many Senators are considering voting for this. This is ignorant. Just like the IRS deciding who can who can be non profit status against the Tea Party but for CAIR and SPLC which are both terrorist supported groups. Look how people have put on no fly list innocent law abiding citizens. Who chooses who gets the Red Flag, it gets political, the party in power will choose the greatest threats with their platform. It can happen. Gun grabbing is just another step to Socialism and re education camps, and they moment the gun gets out of American Conservatives or the down trodden cities where Crime is King for the homes that used to be safe but the gangs can kill innocent people how does that help them? Before communist or socialism becomes a reality, when the guns are taken away, there is a slaughter.
